Customers say: True professional

"Excellent. Could not be happier. Rich and his crew were very friendly, professional, punctual, and neat. I was given all the details of the job before any work began. They completed the job in a timely manner and it looks incredible. I received many compliments from family, friends, and neighbors. I would highly recommend North Jersey Specialists for any exterior or interior painting/power washing jobs. I hope to use them again in the future for some interior painting projects."

"A large part of the living room ceiling of our 110 year-old house fell. Others were ready to sheetrock most or the entire ceiling, causing us to lose and then replace the crown moulding. Also creating a huge mess. While Pat's quote was quite a bit higher, our desire to keep the character of our home's original plaster craftsmanship, to reduce the interruption, and the amazing reviews here led us to pick Pat. He was always available by phone and a pleasant person to have in our home. Of course, most important, a thorough, professional and beautiful job on fixing the ceiling and cleaning up after/keeping our place clean. He even looked at our other rooms to make sure another such collapse was not imminent. Highly recommend Pat/Tri Color!"

"Needed to have old patio replaced and extended. Also needed rain gutter on rear of house replaced. Angelo, of Jersey Pro Construction was easy to deal with and responded to my questions and concerns. Called Angelo to resolve some issues upon job completion which he responded to. Price was Comparable to other estimates received. Would hire again and even recommended Jersey Pro to a neighbor."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can screw directly into stucco. Only do so if the item you are installing is a permanent fixture. Drill a pilot hole into the stucco using a masonry or concrete bit, then drive in the screw with a power drill or screwdriver.

The Mediterranean style is unique in that it’s designed for homes in hotter climates and to maintain a connection with nature. The building materials include stucco siding, clay roofs, and interior tiling with tall ceilings and open floor plans. These all come together to keep the interior cool. The building materials are all natural and tend to have muted earth tones, and the architecture typically allows for easy, open access to the outdoors through large windows and arched doorways. The decor and architecture can range from simple and functional to opulent, depending on the type of Mediterranean home it is.

Stucco applied over brick can last 30 to 50 years or more when correctly applied and properly maintained. Stucco’s lifespan can be shortened by improper application, incorrectly mixed material, lack of preparation before application, and lack of maintenance. To get the most life out of your stucco siding, keep up with maintenance and repair any damage as soon as you discover it.

A standard drill will work just fine if you’re drilling small holes, and only a few of them. But anything with a diameter larger than 3/8 inch is best done with a hammer drill, since it is stronger, faster, and also makes your drill bits last longer. While you don’t absolutely need a hammer drill for stucco, it is a worthy investment if you think you might drill more holes down the road.

Many general contractors can handle adding stucco siding, but it’s best to hire a local stucco contractor as you’re more likely to get a clean finish on your stucco siding that maximizes curb appeal. Stucco can be a challenging material to work with, so hiring a professional contractor who has years of experience and specializes in stucco application is advisable. Compare price quotes from at least three stucco contractors in your area to find the right pro for your task.
