Nothing was booked nobody came out to the house to see what kind of space we had no designer met with me. They finally sent someone out to measure and we picked out our granite. The man who did all of the granite work on the floor was awesome. The day they came to deliver the granite for the shower they brought the pieces in upstairs and dropped one on my brand-new granite tile floor. Obviously they broke a tile. They put everything in and left and I guess they didnt expect me to see the broken tile that they patched up and tried to hide. Use Goedeck if you want to go on the cheap but do not use them for a very nice job. You will not get one. Unless you are a watchdog, which I had to be after today. My guard was up now that I had seen the broken tile and discovered it and had to call them on it and had to constantly bother them to get them out there to fix it. The worst is yet to come. While these men were in the house actually delivering the granite and installing it, guess what? That's when Goedeck chose to send out their decorator to help me plan my bathroom. She just showed up. No appointment. No nothing. I guess they wanted to cover their bases. Too late. I let them know I was not pleased that they sent the designer out at this time and I dismissed her. Let me ask you, what point is it having a designer come out to the house if you've already got the bathroom installed? I am still wondering why they did this. Very disorganized place to work with. We had asked for and paid for shelves in our shower. We drove to Massachusetts to pick out the granite for our shower. The shower was important to us, and we wanted it to look a certain way. They delivered shelves for the shower alright but it looked like they had cut pieces off of somebody's leftover counter to make them. When I told them they had to be replaced I was informed that they were drilled into the granite and could not be moved. We made them cover them with the correct shelves. The owner of the granite company was nasty and gave me a very hard time about replacing these shelves. I am not joking when I tell you they were somebody's leftover kitchen counters that they had stuck in my bathroom - it looked so Mickey Mouse. I had paid for a very nice bathroom, and I did not pay to be treated the way I was treated by this man. One of the Goedeck brothers was out there at this time as well because of all the problems we've had with the shower. He apologized and did replace the items. But it was so aggravating I cannot tell you. They made no monetary compensation for anything that we had to go through regarding the shower. Zero. Some kind of discount or compensation would have gone a long way towards a good review. I really have nothing good to say about these people. The reason I am posting a review now? I just had a friend who asked me who They go through for a shower. I know who NOT to go to! Re Granite and Goedecke. Darel put in a backsplash in our house. He was very knowledgeable about what would look best with the countertops we have. He listened to what I wanted and the overall vision I had for our kitchen. He takes so much time with his customers with going over every detail. He is such a hard worker...
Just go over the products they use on your surfaces with them the first time. They didn't bring granite cleaner so I provided it. I don't think they had marble cleaner either. The ladies are nice just tell them what you want them to use because I didn't like a few of the products they...

"We met Dan months before the project was scheduled to start and he knew our deadline was 7/9 when our first weekly vacation renter was due to arrive. Our main issues were: He was a week late starting Didn't show up on several days (had to take his son to get his COVID shot, several days it was too hot, heavy traffic, etc) Ignored my detailed instructions/drawings and we lost time because he plumed a double vanity for only 1 sink, told us we could buy any standard shower door from Lowe's only to learn AFTER the shower had been framed that it required a custom built door, forgot to tile the accent color stripe in the shower, miscalculated the amount of shower tile needed requiring me to drive 3 hours RT to purchase extra tile and deliver it to him. Skim coat on the ceiling was done poorly, the door to the bathroom didn't open all the way so we had to hire someone after Dan left to shave it down for us. He was supposed to finish by July 9th and didn't finish until Sept 9th!!!! had to give renters $3000 off because they had no toilet or shower. I split the difference with him and took $1500 off his bill and he was not happy. I should have taken the entire amount off. He might be OK for smaller jobs, but he is not focused enough and doesn't work a full day (usually 8 AM -1 PM) or even a full week. If he takes work outside of NH, he should have his plumbing/electrical license so he doesn't have to rely on outside contractors. We suffered because he didn't hold ME licenses and wasn't well connected w/ local contractors in ME."

Granite Countertop Companies questions, answered by experts
Different types of engineered stone countertops require varying installation methods. The best option is to hire a countertop installer, especially if you are unfamiliar with the stone you plan to use. Generally speaking, quartz is the easiest for DIYers because you can cut it on site with a diamond blade and diamond hole saw. The average DIYer is unlikely to have the special tools to cut sintered stone countertops. Before diving into a project, make sure you have the experience and tools to do the job correctly.
While no countertop material is truly “heatproof,” granite countertops are extremely resistant to high temperatures. Some types of granite can withstand temperatures up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. However, we don’t recommend placing hot pots and pans directly on granite countertops. Even if it doesn’t scar the granite, it may damage the sealant.
Marble is very porous, so it stains more than non-porous quartz. Exercise caution when drinking wine and juice or cooking with oil near the marble fixture.
Silestone® is heat-resistant, so it can handle moderately high temperatures for a short period of time. That said, exposure to high heat can cause serious damage. You should never take a hot pan off the stove and place it directly on your countertop. Temperatures above 300 degrees Fahrenheit can leave marks or discoloration on the surface. Instead, use a trivet.
Any surface, including a waterfall countertop, can last decades based on a few things. First is the chosen material. For instance, quartz and granite are more durable and long-lasting than marble or concrete. Proper care also plays a key role. Regular cleaning and sealing, if required, will help any counter resist stains and damage over time.
