Mark Vachon

Mark is thorough, precise and extremely neat. Many contractors leave their mess behind but Mark is meticulous! I highly recommend him.

Mark Vachon isn't just a contractor, he's an artist! He had previously done a built in lovely shelf wall-unit for us, as well as replaced doors and windows for us. He's always prompt, professional, and brimming with ideas. We liked him immensely and knew he was the one to ask when we had a plan for a finishing touch on our family room that we weren't sure could be done. We asked him to create a book case that looked like a silhouette of tree. What he built, with just a picture of a leafless tree and a conversation with us, so exceeded our expectations that we are still giddy over it almost 3 months later. We're buying first editions of our favorite books to dress its shelves because nothing else is worthy of it. It's 14 feet tall and incredibly sturdy. Mark bent each branch to give the bookcase the graceful appearance of an oak tree. It was also textured to have the appearance of real bark. Every last detail shows Mark's incredible skill. Whether you are looking to have your kitchen redone, or something gorgeous and unique done, there is no one I would recommend higher than Mark.

Mark did a wonderful job. He was prompt and professional. We explained what we were looking to do in regard to the scope of work. He told us how he would do the job and what problems might crop up during the work and how he would handle those situations should they occur. The job was one that he has clearly done before and he delivered as he said he would. He helped us confirm our material order from a manufacturer. We feel we ordered a quality product and he installed the exterior door correctly. We are very happy with the finished product. We would certainly consider him for future work in our home.

We are repeat customers of Marks wouldn't even look elsewhere he is a Jack of all trades. We had dry rotted wood on the outside of our house which needed replacing Mark did an excellent job, he also replaced a few roof tiles that needed doing. He is excellent at his trade, reasonable prices and a A+ guy

Mark did an awesome job building the desk. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. We started communication through emails. Mark was very patient discussing with me on details, such as the size of the deck, material needed, and color options. On the day before he started working on the deck, he went over with us on the details again to make sure we are on the same page. He came on time, works hard, and only used 1 and half days to finish the work. After he is done, he even clean the garage and took the trash away. The work he did is absolutely high quality. It looks great and we love it! We would definitely hire Mark again for our future projects.

Once we met Mark, we knew immediately we wanted to do business with him. We aligned on pricing, expectations of the project, received a project start and estimated completion date. Mark also helped us with wood stain selection based on his professional expertise since we wanted the stain on railing and newel post to compliment our hardwood floors. The painting done on the balusters was also nicely done. Our custom railing system is a work of art and it’s a pleasure to look at every day. Mark is a perfectionist! We look forward to working with him on future home projects.

As with previous work done for us by Mark, we are extremely satisfied. He is a superior craftsman, with meticulous attention to detail. Professional and easy to communicate our requirements and design to, he provided excellent recommendations and answered any questions. Having a 200 year old house can present some challenges, Mark identified any areas of concern and provided solutions. The results exceeded our expectations and we are so pleased.

Wow! What a great handyman. Prompt, responsive, knowledgeable, reliable, good communicator and skilled at fixing things. He fixed a 90+ year old bannister at my parent’s house and did a great job. Would definitely hire Mark to do additional work. Wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again. ( Yeah, he is that good!)

All jobs were completed in less than 4 days incredible work craftsmanship energized 5 star quick solutions to hard problems. Quick turnaround was imperative due to closing date of sale of the home and above and beyond coordinating was made available ~ not many as we know would do such.

We had a half dozen different contractors look at this project and Mark was, by far, the best the one we met with in many ways. I cannot say enough great things about working with him. He addressed all our concerns about the shelves being functional as well as looking, not just nice, but part of the room. The shelves are adjustable, cover an entire wall, go around two windows, and fit under a vaulted ceiling. He installed them so they look as though they have always been there. He is well-versed in furniture design as well as being a contractor so when we didn't have any set ideas about the design, his suggestions were wonderful. The bookshelves look amazing and fit even more books than we thought they would. Also, he even thought to make extra shelves in case we wanted to add to them to make some tiers smaller.

This was our second time having Mark do work at our home. We had a different company do replacement windows before mark. He was doing the 12 Windows left in our home. I am shocked at the difference in quality of work. Mark's work is visibly superior to the other company. We will have him back in the spring to do more work on our home. Photo included is of 1 window (completed by Mark in jan. 2018) in the bathroom he remodeled for us in Aug. 2017.

Terrific. Mark listened to my ideas for the project, looked at the space and came back with a specific design that was exactly what I was looking for. He was able to absorb the style of the house, pay attention to colors of the stain and details that fit right in perfectly. His craftsmanship is great and we are very pleased. Mark is a professional to deal with, dependable and communicates very well. I would definitely recommend him.

Mark is a true artist. I feel like I hired Michaelangelo to paint my walls! Not only did he do exceptional work, but he understands aesthetics and was able to help with making design decisions. His attention to detail was impeccable and he does great finish work. He was a pleasure to work with, very friendly, explained everything he was doing and answered EVERY question I asked. He was reliable and showed up every day from start to finish, making the project run smoothly and stress-free. My kitchen looks amazing! I would highly recommend Mark to anyone. Hiring him feels like winning the contractor lottery.

Mark was absolutely wonderful to work with. The work Mark did was exactly what I wanted. Mark has a very consultative approach and with his years of experience, was able to help offer great suggestions for the job. He spent a great deal of time with me talking/ scoping the project as well as answering the many questions I had throughout the job. He treated my home as if it was his own...he cleaned up at the end of every day and he was on time every day....he showed up when he said he would and he completed the job on time and for exactly what he originally quoted. I will definitely be hiring Mark again for future projects.

Fabulously! I cannot put into words how Mark transformed our home and our lives by building our beautiful addition in Reading, MA. Not only is he a true professional: honest, knowledgeable, talented, budget-minded, timely, tidy; but I relied on his expertise suggesting/choosing materials and creating what I envisioned. Mark is an artist as well as a master builder/furniture maker and a real pleasure to work with!
