"Great service and availability. You may have to pay a little extra but sometimes that's worth it especially when you have a few inches of water in your basement during the storm of 2017 and they come within the hour!"

"So far, so good. The finished project looks great; it really hasn't been tested yet as there has been little or no rain. Groundwater used to flow through the cellar after heavy rains so we'll see it the subsurface floor drain works. The floor looks good, the price was right (lowest of three bids) and Beth was very helpful and available to answer all my questions. At the moment, I'm very happy."

"I'd like to thank John and his team Ryan, Jordan & Steve for the wonderful job they did at my property over the past several days. I originally had John look into removing some broken concrete in my garage several months ago but I decided to have some additional work done. This included the removal of my crumbling/frost heaved old driveway and all existing base material. The new material brought in also included the laying down of a driveway drainage system due to the nature of the soil and higher than normal ground water levels in this area. The paving crew (Kyle from "Coastal") was also very well organized and did an excellent job in finishing the new drive. The overall job also included the installation of a new water line to the house and a new concrete pad in the garage. All the work exceeded my expectations. John is a very knowledgeable, honest and caring worker and I highly recommend him to anyone for their next home project. Thanks again to JW's Landscape Construction!"

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

A well-installed storm door in good condition can increase your home's value. This upgrade is more than just an aesthetic change; it adds functionality, security, and insulation that can appeal to buyers. While it may not significantly raise the sale price on its own, a storm door improves curb appeal and can help attract more potential buyers. However, a shabby or poorly maintained one could have the opposite effect.

Storm handles using universal hole spacings are interchangeable regardless of brand and model. However, some older models may require specific hardware. In these cases, we recommend replacing your storm door altogether instead of spending hours looking for a replacement part online. Newer models also tend to be more durable and efficient, so a new storm door could be a worthy investment.

There are a few ways to make your storm door less drafty. For example, if the bottom of your storm door is letting in air, you can lower the door sweep so there’s a smaller gap between your door and the floor. You can also install weatherstripping or apply caulk around the door frame.

There are several types of storm doors, including vinyl-clad, steel-clad, aluminum, and wood-core, and each type has its own benefits. For example, vinyl-clad storm doors are excellent at keeping out water, while steel-clad storm doors hold up well against high winds. There are also multiple styles of storm doors, ranging from full-view (made entirely of glass) to high-view (with just a small glass panel).

Each has its use, depending on the scenario. Security doors are primarily intended to keep people out of the home, while storm doors are used to protect the home from extreme weather. Both tend to be made from heavy-duty metal and may include glass panels to allow light to enter the home. Storm doors can feature mesh screens, just like screen doors, to allow for increased ventilation and to keep out pests. Security doors rarely, if ever, have mesh screens.
