Landscape - Minor Grading or Resloping
JWs Landscape worked with me to clear my property of overgrown gardens, trees, etc to prep it for a lawn. They communicated with me throughout the entire process as I was not always on site. They were very accommodating of changes and requests I made as the work was being done.

Building Site - Preparation and Clearing
I live in Greenland and our house is about 25 years old. Over the last 2 years, we noticed that some lawn depressions were forming on the side of the property that borders protected wetlands managed by The Nature Conservancy. Concerned about the increasing size of these depressions over time, we contacted John Welch, the owner of JWs Landscape Construction. John followed up immediately with a site visit and opinion that the cause of the depressions was burial of tree stumps and other debris when the contractor cleared the lot to build the house. John quickly provided us with an estimate to excavate and remove the trunks and return the lawn to its original condition. John and his team did an excellent job. It was amazing how many tree stumps had been buried in this area. We also have a lawn sprinkler system and his team was very careful about ensuring there was minimal disruption to the lines and heads. His knowledge about these sink holes proved valuable as well. I would highly recommend him to anyone who suspects they have this issue occurring on their property.

Brick and Stone Patios, Walks, and Steps - Install
John and Cory installed a two level granite rock wall, granite steps and brick walkway to our front door, and it looks fantastic. We were impressed with their hard work and attention to detail. Particularly valuable to us was his background in this type of work which let him recommended design and arrangement ideas for us to consider, and which made the completed project better than we could imagine on our own. John made at least three visits to view the site, discuss options and sent pictures of similar projects. This assured we agreed on what would be done up front so there were no surprises. During the project he daily described what he was doing and the next steps. The granite blocks for the wall were carefully placed for the right look by individually hand splitting, sawing, or grinding for a custom fit. There was extensive work behind the wall to back-fill with stone and even anchor the large end posts with rebar to allow good drainage and stability. This type of detail is impressive since it is all out of sight behind the front blocks and will never be seen, but it will help assure the wall lasts for a long time to come. The same type of attention was given to the positioning, leveling, base preparation and placement of the brick walkway. The project was finished off with a layer of dirt/loam to allow plantings around the hardscape. John and Cory were easy to work with and stuck to the original estimate. Any potential changes were discussed and an estimate provided so we could decide whether or not to include the change. We are 100% satisfied with the outcome of this project. John F.

Brick and Stone Driveways & Floors Installation Service
John Welch did a great job installing pervious pavers in driveway as required by local planning board. John took care of all aspects of driveway improvement including obtaining proper permits along with accompanying me at the planning board meeting for approval of the driveway project. I'd like to thank John and his team Ryan, Jordan & Steve for the wonderful job they did at my property over the past several days. I originally had John look into removing some broken concrete in my garage several months ago but I decided to have some additional work done. This included the removal of my crumbling/frost heaved old driveway and all existing base material. The new material brought in also included the laying down of a driveway drainage system due to the nature of the soil and higher than normal ground water levels in this area. The paving crew (Kyle from "Coastal") was also very well organized and did an excellent job in finishing the new drive. The overall job also included the installation of a new water line to the house and a new concrete pad in the garage. All the work exceeded my expectations. John is a very knowledgeable, honest and caring worker and I highly recommend him to anyone for their next home project. Thanks again to JW's Landscape Construction!

JW installed a front walkway at my home and we couldn't be happier with the result and the entire experience. Not only was JW the most competitive on price (out of 4 contractors) he was the only contractor to follow up and make multiple visits to my home to measure elevations and review the plan and estimate with me. When we made a request for demolition companies, Mr. Welch contacted us early the very next day! We met with him that day and he gave us a tentative estimate. We were very impressed with this quick response. The demolition, a gunite pool, took place the week of July 28th. Mr. Welch was prompt, thorough, and very pleasant to work with. He demonstrates a work ethic not seen in this day and age! We would recommend him to anyone who asks about this type of service. We would be happy to show people the work he has done for us. "Back wall of a waterfall 24 feet wide and 10 feet high with stones ranging in size from 100 lbs to 1000 to 2000 lbs stones. This job was tricky we could not get equipment in to move stones. We have a strong background in rigging and set up heavy duty staging with I beams and used beam trolleys with chain falls and it worked out great!"

We trucked in over 200 yards of clean fill and back filled pool area and top dressed with recycled concrete do to the homeowner want to eventually put in a brick patio in that area. This job was a little tricky do to limited access so multiple pieces of equipment were used."

"Remove existing in ground pool. In ground pool with concrete patio crushed up and used for back fill completely regrade back yard area installed a stone wall also. This homeowner actually had us rebuild a existing stonewall on the property and cut and stump multiple trees for a new side yard. We hauled in 140+ yards for regrading and they love it!"

Although I only communicated with John long distance, I always felt I was dealing with an honest person.
