"Marcel performed a flawless installation of a Radon Mitigation system in my home. He thoroughly explained and shared testing results as he proceeded with the installation. He continually checked and rechecked his measurements and cuts making sure everything was level and plumb. I'm a very meticulous customer and I was completely satisfied with my new system. He left an instrument to monitor my radon levels for a few days just to be absolutely sure that everything is performing as it should be. If you need Radon Mitigation...I HIGHLY recommend Airtight Radon Solutions."

"Mark, the owner came over himself to estimate the job. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to explain what and why they were going to do. He also was able to give comparisons of equipment used by other companies. The front office kept me updated on tests and appointments, timely. His crew was very professional and PUNCTUAL! They took the time to remove all signs and equipment of my old water system, which they didn't have to do. Due to hard-packed dirt under my basement floor, they had to return 3 times to bring my Radon Air within EPA standards. However, the quoted price didn't change, and each time the crew was as professional as their first visit. I highly recommend Mark and US Water Consultants for your Radon Air Mitigation and any water improvements and modifications."

"John was great, came to inspect our home in Rochester and was professional and had every piece of equipment you could need to give us a detailed look into our house. "On a whim I decided to check our radon levels in our basement. I guess I assumed this would have been done by the previous homeowner. Apparently one should never assume. My test game back at 5.9 pCi/L. The acceptable level is 4. And I wasn't going to chance my family's health. So I did my research on radon mitigation and sent a quote request through Angi's platform. I received a phone call the owner, John Spokis within 30 minutes on the Friday before New Year's. He explained the entire process and provided me transparent pricing over the phone and in writing via email same day. He was able to schedule us that Monday after New Year's. The installer Derek called me an hour before arrival to let me know he was on his way. He arrived on time, explained the work that was to be performed, reviewed the location with me and made sure I approved of everything before he started. The installation itself took about two hours. This included patching some cracks we had in our concrete at no additional charge. Frankly, I wasn't terribly excited about having a big white fan unit and pipe installed along my house. But I also knew that this was the optimal solution for our needs. And Derek took the time to make it look as neat and clean as possible. I really couldn't have asked for an easier or more pleasant installation at a very fair price. Oh and they guarantee after install that your radon will be 2pCi/L or below. They even give you a kit to test and make sure it has been lowered. There is a lifetime warranty on parts and labor that is transferable if you sell your home. And the fan has a 5 year warranty. So, if you have unsafe radon levels in your home. Don't procrastinate like I did. Just call Radon Systems and get it done in two hours. You'll be glad you did. I am."

"They were the first to give us a quote and were able to come out as soon as we needed them to. Installation was smooth, and they have been good at following up to make sure the system is working. Because our radon is still slightly high, they are doing another radon test and will follow up if it comes back high yet again. We would definitely recommend them to others!"

"It went fantastic. Scheduling wise the gentlemen at Rhino Radon were quick to respond to our inquiry via there website were I filled out a online questionnaire. Once speaking to Henry about the specifics of my home via phone and letting him no my situation. They were prompt in scheduling a date for installation to assure my radon problem didn't delay my ability to sell the home. From the time I filled out there questionnaire on there website till the system was installed and fully operational, all took place In one weeks time. I no from experience that these days the attentiveness and service Rhino Radon provided me can be difficult to find. Having recently just finished the process of building my own home in Malden and dealing with a wide range of company's and workers. It's the little things that stand out like personal treatment, responding quick to inquiries or concerns and of course taking the time to do things properly the first time around while still treating the home with respect. Rhino Radon came recommended to me via a friend and I couldn't thank them enough for steering me in the right direction for my radon mitigation needs. I would like to do the same to anyone currently searching for a radon company. If you want the job done right and a pleasant experience, look no further for your radon needs then Rhino Radon Services.

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

No level of radon is technically safe, but since it is present everywhere, complete avoidance is impossible. The average radon level in homes across the United States is 1.3 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends taking preventative measures if your home's radon levels are between 2 and 4 pCi/L or higher.

The fan that pulls the radon out of the air needs to run continuously, so you may see an increase in your electric bill once you install the mitigation system. Additionally, you may see an increase in your heating or cooling bills, as the fan can cause some loss of hot or cool air.

Radon is present almost everywhere but, like sunlight, the concentration levels and how often you are exposed to it have a large part to play in just how dangerous it is. There are levels of radon that are acceptable inside a house, but above a certain limit, radon becomes a serious radioactive hazard that is a known cause of lung cancer. In fact, radon exposure is the number two leading cause of lung cancer (after smoking).

Your radon mitigation system may be loud because it’s time to replace it. Any sounds are usually from the inline fan that helps create the vacuum and resulting airflow. If you hear a new, loud mechanical or humming noise from your radon fan, it might be time to replace it. Most fans used in radon mitigation systems last up to 10 years, but may need to be replaced sooner.

The soil beneath your house is most likely what’s causing an increased level of radon. This is because soil holds radioactivity for a long time and it’s also what most buildings are built on. Another common source of radon is water from a source that hasn’t been through periodic radon tests, such as well water. Over time, the radon from the soil can inhabit other parts of your house like the foundation or plumbing.
