"I recently hired Nick and his crew to paint my upstairs guest bedroom with cathedral ceilings and they did an outstanding job. They also installed over 400 square feet of solid Brazilian Cherry Hardwood Flooring and it came out amazing. I would highly recommend Nick and Company and we will be hiring them again when we need more work done, very polite and professional. Thanks so much for a great job done. Thanks again, Kim & Cindy Doubleday Baptist Road Canterbury, NH"

"Great communication, done in a timely manner as discussed. Came out to view the work instead of just quoting by pictures. Was very kind and polite, great work and was very detailed on protecting other areas in the house and did an amazing job cleaning up. Would absolutely hire again to do many tasks if needed"

Customers say: Quality work

"This is the 2nd job we has Steve do for us. The was a min bathroom renovation and also kitchen backsplash. Bathroom came out great. He walled off a second door to access the bathroom, ripped out old tile, and put down new tile and installed a new vanity. Very happy with the finished product. Steve also did the backsplash in the kitchen. It came out perfect. I would definitely recommend Steve for any home improvement projects you may have."

"I am very pleased with Jeremy and Ricky's work. It was not an easy or fun project but they did a great job at a fair price. Both guys were very nice, very caring and definitely went the extra mile. I highly recommend Right Time and absolutely will hire them again!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

It’s easiest to start from an edge as it gives you a straight line. A problem may arise if your edge doesn’t line up perfectly, in which case it’s best to start from the center. Some think that starting tile from the center adds a focal point in the center of the hearth.

If you’re handling your tile removal yourself, seal the room using painter’s tape and heavy-duty contractor bags to prevent dust and shards from escaping. Use a claw hammer or a pry bar and a mallet to get behind the tile and pry it away from the floor or wall. Once your tiles are all removed, sweep everything into contractor bags for disposal, being careful not to overfill them. Make sure you wear a dust mask, safety goggles, and work gloves to keep yourself safe from injury while you work.

For glass tile, you want to use unsanded grout. Sanded grout is a stronger and grittier cement grout that is great for installing tiles with wider gaps and into joints. However, it is susceptible to scratching glass tile and is more difficult to use in thinner gaps. Unsanded grout, while more expensive, is easier to fit between thin gaps and is less harsh on delicate materials, like glass tile.

Once cracks appear, it is hard to stop tiles from cracking more. If the cause of the problem is improper subflooring, underlying concrete, improper tile joint sizes, mold growth, or structural issues, the only way to stop floor tiles from cracking is to redo the entire floor, fixing the underlying issues first. If cracks occur after impact damage, hiring a professional tile contractor to replace the cracked tiles, fix loose floor tiles, and restore the grout around them can prevent further damage. It is also important to keep your tile and grout clean and maintained to prolong its life.

Yes, you can tile over existing tiles in a bathroom, but it is not always recommended. For this method to be successful, the original tile surface must be clean, flat, and free of damage such as cracks, unevenness, mold, or mildew. While tiling over existing tiles can save time and money, there are potential drawbacks. The new adhesive may not bond properly, and the process adds extra weight to the wall or floor. Additionally, the increased height of the surface could interfere with door clearances. For the best and most durable results, removing the old tiles before installing new ones is generally the better option.
