"The entire process was really great. We always felt that Jeff was trying to satisfy our wants and needs not trying to sell us something. From beginning to end the whole process was very professional. The install crew was very good, professional and considerate of our home. If you're dealing with a clogged sink drain, you may be able to avoid removing the drain by using a plunger to dislodge the clog. While we associate plungers with toilets, they can do the same job with your sink drain. Be gentle, though, as forceful movements can push clogs further into your plumbing system and make them more difficult to remove. Additionally, make sure you’re using a sink plunger—with a flat bottom—and not a toilet plunger—which has a smaller bottom protruding from the larger flat piece.

The type of sealant you use on a leaking pipe will depend on the pipe material and the cause of the leak. PVC P-traps should avoid petroleum-based sealants, which can degrade the plastic and worsen the leak. Pipe sealant is specifically designed for use on pipes, but remember—if your P-trap has a crack–it’s best to replace the pipe to avoid future leaks.

To drain a broken toilet, place towels or plastic sheeting around the base in case of splashing or overflowing. Next, shut off the toilet’s water supply, usually via a valve on the wall behind the toilet. Begin flushing the handle to remove as much water as possible from the tank and the bowl. Don’t flush the toilet if it’s clogged, though. From there, use a large sponge to soak up any remaining water and wring it over a bucket. 

If your toilet won’t stop running, you might have a bad fill valve. This may be the case if the valve has calcium or debris buildup, is cracked, or shows visible signs of wear and tear. A bad fill valve may also be the culprit if you’ve already checked the flapper and chain and adjusted the fill height to no avail.
