"Our deck was in poor shape and needed to be resurfaced.  Asa pointed out some additional issues that other contractors did not find.  Asa's price was slightly higher than other contractors (even with the other issues deducted).   We elected to go with Asa as result of the review's on Angles List.  He was pleasant to work with and was clear on changes when needed and made sure to provide cost estimates for the additional work.  Quality of workmanship was excellent.  Would recommend him for your project.

"Jason C. and Sylvia M. from Palmer did an excellent job on the electrical connections to my new stove and oven. Additional work on my breaker box was completed as well. Their friendliness and professionalism as always was outstanding. This is the reason I use Palmer for all my Propane, Oil and Electrical work. I only wish they added plumbing and carpentry as well. Its the kind of well run company you honestly want to give all your business to. I highly recommend them! Sincerely, Robert S. North Andover, MA"

"Jesse and his veteran crew of subs built a large log home for us. These are tricky homes to build. Any unexpected events were handled professionally. We plan to hire him again to renovate the unfinished basement."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

The process involves initial consultation, concept development, detailed planning, regulatory approvals, and integration of contractor work for project execution.

Builder-grade is one of two types of stock cabinets, whereas semi-custom designs allow homeowners some control over the color, finish, or hardware on their cabinets. Stock cabinets are sold in construction-grade and builder-grade designs. Construction-grade cabinets are usually made from inexpensive medium-density fiberboard, which is prone to moisture damage, whereas builder-grade models are a step up with higher-quality materials. Construction-grade designs are the most common type of cabinets in America.

No, it’s not legal for unlicensed individuals to conduct structural calculations for buildings or building repairs. Not only do licensing requirements prevent DIYers from tackling this project, but mistakes can also be extremely dangerous and put your property and anyone inside or near it at risk of severe injury or even death. You should always hire a licensed and certified local structural engineer to make structural calculations.

When you think about Arts and Crafts-style homes, you probably think of a Craftsman house or a bungalow-style Craftsman. Craftsman is one of the major styles developed during the Arts and Crafts movement, but it checks most boxes. Craftsman houses have low-pitched roofs, exposed rafters, open floor plans, and stunning wood finish.

You don’t have to commit to a complete home renovation to age in place comfortably—those can get pricey. Instead, focus on a few impactful changes. Consider adding a stair lift or installing ramps to eliminate barriers. Upgrading to non-slip flooring can prevent falls while adding brighter lighting can improve visibility throughout your home. These thoughtful updates can make your home much easier to navigate and enhance your comfort and safety without the stress and cost of a complete overhaul.
