"Cory and Colton arrived on the time schedule, did a survey on the apartment and quickly started moving the furniture. They were very professional and did the best they could to finish as early as possible."

"MHC Moving made our move an absolute breeze! From start to finish, their team was professional, efficient, and incredibly careful with our belongings. They arrived on time, worked quickly without sacrificing quality, and handled everything with great care. The crew was friendly, respectful, and went above and beyond to ensure a smooth transition. Pricing was fair with no hidden fees, and communication was excellent throughout the process. I highly recommend MHC Moving to anyone looking for a stress-free and reliable moving experience. "Provider was on time, padded the doorways, covered the hardwood floor etc. to prevent scratches and any kind of damage.  They moved everything we asked and in the time scheduled.  Andrew and Mike were very professional and the experience was delightful.  The office personnel were professional and very friendly and ensured that all the details of the furniture move were outlined by describing it on the phone and then providing a detailed invoice by email along with the appropriate waivers needed for protection of the customer and the movers.
This company does not provided trucks which must be rented by the customer, but the service we required did not require a truck.

"Top Tier Van Lines has carefully & efficiently moved my mother's house from Kearny to Newark. The move includes also a very heavy and delicate piano. They did a great job! They are highly professional, highly logistical and very organized. They are hard workers. The move was done with zero damage. I highly recommend this moving company."

"So I hired these folks to help me unload a self-move U-Haul. I did help extensively with the unloading. I also moved six times in 10 years. While the workers were extremely nice, they did not arrive with basic moving gear: gloves, sliding pads, or hoist straps. They caused more damage than I'm comfortable with for a move. Furthermore, mid-transaction, the payment method changed, and the phone number became obsolete. I had concerns on the operational side."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Movers know the best way to pack different items to protect them during a move and make the most of the space in a moving truck. You can pack your belongings to save money, but there’s a higher risk of damage.

The lowest-cost days to move are Monday through Thursday. Many people move on weekends for convenience, so weekdays are often more affordable for hiring movers or renting a moving truck. Ask your local moving company if they offer any discounts for certain times of the year or days of the week.

When planning an out-of-state move, you should aim to save enough money to cover at least two to three months of living expenses, including rent, food, utilities, and transportation. Ideally, saving for six months or more is best, especially if you don't have a job lined up. You also need to budget for the transition costs, such as a moving vehicle rental, hiring movers, and packing materials. Cross-country moves typically cost between $2,400 and $6,860. You can calculate your estimated moving costs in advance based on factors like distance, weight, and the number of bedrooms.

To save your flooring’s finish and to protect yourself from injury, use furniture sliders to move your couch from room to room on the same house level. Double-check that entryways are large enough to pass through. If you need to move a couch up or down stairs, hire a team of movers to help you with this task to avoid damaging your walls or staircase.

Hiring professional movers is usually worth the investment. These moving pros have the expertise and experience to get the job done quickly and safely, saving you time and potentially avoiding damage to your belongings. Professionals are especially a good idea if you’re moving long distances or large, bulky items, like furniture, pianos, or vehicles. Pros will also know when you need moving permits based on where you live and whether or not the moving truck will block traffic.
