If you believe that I can be of any assistance to you. \n\nPlease E-Mail my business email at [email protected] in addition to this platform.
"They were the only one of several contractors to respond. Robert and his team were professional and thorough. They even used a concrete saw to help me shape one remaining section of concrete at the base of my deck stairs. While they were loading the concrete, I finished breaking up the last section and they hauled that away as well. It only took a little more than an hour and the rate was very reasonable."
"My wife and I were very pleased with the professionalism, communication, and attention to detail of Paul and Ryan at Marathon Services. I did a lot of research before choosing a contractor and was very pleased with my decision. With the rainy weather this spring, we kept in contact about the start date and Marathon delivered as promised. Paul and Ryan walked me through all the details of the roof replacement, including ventilation and some areas that would need extra special attention. For example, the chimney on my house is placed in such a way that if the roof isn't properly done, it may cause problems, but they were very detailed in the amount of work they did in this area. Ryan is a chimney expert, and his expertise came in handy for this job. It was very apparent to me that Paul and Ryan really care about the quality of work they do and take pride in it. They also care about the relationship with their customers, and did whatever was necessary to make sure that I have a quality roof for years to come. "

"Beau was extremely responsive, professional, and an overall amazing contractor to work with. Being a military family, we found out last minute we would have to put our house up for sale and move. Beau ensured the job got done quickly (without skimping on quality) and in time to put our home up for sale. Both we and the buyers LOVE the result. We would definitely recommend Premier Painting for projects and will continue to use him in the future!"
"It went really well. Mike and his team were so incredibly efficient and easy to work with. And most importantly they listened to our requests and then actually took the time to do the things we asked them to do. We had an easy yet very specific request for the hallway and they did exactly what we asked. (We gave the same request to another contractor and they ended up doing business as usual instead of what we asked.) They cleaned up the area and didn't leave a single mark on my walls. This all seems like such common sense but we've had first hand experience with store contractors where these things didn't happen and my brand new walls were dented and marked. We've had multiple bad experiences in the past using the "free" installation provided by the store where we purchased the carpet. I would highly recommend taking control of your contractor and hiring the installation yourself. It was much easier then I thought it would be. MWC also showed up on time and finished as promised. And it actually ended up saving me money because I didn't have to take multiple days off of work.
Lined up another sub-contractor to come by and give estimate to take out wall so I could expand/add kitchen island, but neither the first person I met with nor the sub-contractor followed up with me to provide the total estimate. I left a message a few weeks later asking for a call back and never received one.
In the end, whether they could do the work I was asking for or not, had they followed up with me, I would have considered them for my cabinet refinishing work, which I will be doing this summer.
UPDATE November 7, 2014: The owner of the co got back with me after seeing this review. He went above and beyond to address the poor follow through and put me in touch with another designer who promptly contacted me and drew up some plans. They addressed all my questions and on top of that he even reimbursed the $50 fee. I was very pleased with the recommendation, timeliness and over all effort to make it right."

"When we decided to redo our kitchen in April of 2012, we knew what we wanted fixed, our budget and that's about it. We started talking to contractors, kitchen design centers and researching ideas. We quickly realized we were in WAY over our heads. A lot of places offer free design services if you buy all of your materials through them. We didn't want to be tied down. We didn't want a complete tear down to the studs, either. Homemade Design to the rescue! First of all the price was an absolute steal for the service provided. Amanda and co. Listened to what we wanted and came up with inovative, functional and beautiful solutions. Our house is old. We wanted to keep that 1920s feel, but still have a dishwasher, granite countertops and stainless appliances! Amanda had the brilliant idea of only replacing the bottom cabinets. She also gave me excellent instructions on how to refinish my existing cabinets so they look like new. This was a perfect solution for US. Homemade Design gave us ideas for layout, cabinets, lighting, wall paint, appliances, furniture, countertops, backsplash, faucets, sink, and cusions for built in. She would have recommended flooring if we wanted, but we didn't. Now, Amanda is more like a consultant...( I actually called her my kitchen remodel therapist). You still are ultimately responsible for the plan and what works for you. If your measurements are off (like mine were) that's on you. I was adament about no island and no microwave over the stove and so she didn't put those in the design. Some suggestions were not my style. And I said so. Honestly, if I picked out my own kitchen it would be so safe: white subway tile or something. Amanda gave me the guts to mix patterns and create something spectacular! It took almost a year to complete ( contractors fault) We did a lot of work ourselves. We bought the cabinets, backsplash tile, light fixtures, table and banquette cusions through Homemade Design at a great discount, we checked!! If you try shopping for any part of your kitchen, the volume of choices can be overwhelming. We loved having Amanda narrow it down for us. Communication was through email, mostly. She never took longer than three business days to respond to my million questions or concerns. Awesome. 5 months later, my kitchen is a dream come true. And I owe it all to Homemade Design! "
Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts
There are approximately 5.33 board feet in a 2x4. You can use the board foot calculator in this article to easily find the answer. A 2x4 is 2 inches of thickness by 4 inches of width, so you need to find the length, with 8 feet being the most common. You’d use the calculator here to multiply 2 times 4 times 8, and then divide by 12, arriving at a total of 5.33 board feet.
There are both temporary and permanent ways to enclose a carport. If you’re looking to enclose your carport for the winter, a canvas enclosure could do the trick. It won’t be as protective as a permanent structure, but it can offer some protection from elements like snow, rain, and wind. For a permanent enclosure, you can add extra walls, add a new vertical roof, or a lean-to addition on one side of the structure.
Framing is the shell of the house. It includes several steps, including studs, plumbing, and electricity. A professional will ensure the wall frame is secured for the house’s structural integrity.
Framing prices change depending on the material and whether the wall is load-bearing. Most contractors use wood to frame a home, but metal is another popular choice.
In framing, studs are placed at 16-inch intervals to coincide with the typical spacing of wall materials such as drywall or plywood. This spacing is called "on-center" and is necessary for maintaining structural stability and efficient use of materials. The 16-inch spacing also helps to distribute the weight evenly across the building's structure. For those looking to cut material costs and improve energy efficiency, 24-inch stud spacing can be employed through a method called "advanced framing". This requires careful planning and adherence to local building codes to ensure structural integrity.
A few signs that you need a new door frame include:
The door no longer fits properly in its frame and sticks or scrapes.
You notice cracks, holes, or rotting.
You feel a draft coming from around the door when it’s closed.
You find yourself frequently needing to make repairs.
