"They did great. The entire surface was level and free from tripping hazards. It is important to have them seal the cracks because there will be water from snow melt and the concrete will move. This will get you the 5 yr warrantee just in case."

"Although we wanted an estimate on repair, the owner was able to provide a simple suggestion on how we could fix our window. If the suggestion doesn't work, we will certainly call again for follow-up and repair. The owner was very professional, responsive, and knowledgeable."

Small jobs welcome

"Once some communication issues were worked out, they were on time. Did more then expected (which was greatly appreciated), and VERY reasonable. We added replace vinyl floor and replace sink vanity top to list as well as drywall & paint. So they started drywall, pulled vanity, toilet, base boards, laid vinyl, replaced vanity top, added shutoffs for sink with repairs to drain at wall (extra work), sanded drywall repairs, painted (even area not needed just to make it all look finished) , replaced toilet (new wax ring), vanity, finish touches, clean up and removal of all waste, all in 1 day."

Concrete Repair questions, answered by experts

No, hairline cracks in concrete are generally not a problem as they do not impact the strength and longevity of the concrete. Generally, cracks less than 0.3 millimeter wide don’t impact the structure. Hairline cracks can grow over time and weaken the structure, such as in a home foundation. Some hairline cracks can also cause leaks in a foundation. It’s important to watch the cracks to see if they grow. Contact a concrete contractor if you notice cracks exceeding 0.3 millimeter wide.

It’s usually not a big deal if your foundation sinks between 2 and 3 inches into the ground after construction, provided the settlement occurs evenly. This is usually indicative of normal settlement that occurs as the soil under your home adapts to the weight of the structure. If the home sinks more into the ground or the settlement occurs unevenly, leaving portions of your home to sink further down than others, then call a foundation repair specialist to address the issue and avoid additional damage.

No, house settling is normal as your home’s foundation settles into the soil below and as the framing of your home shifts as it expands and contracts with changes in temperature and moisture. However, if you get to the point where your doors and windows aren’t opening easily, your floors are uneven, or you can visibly see that your roof line is wavy or uneven, you are more likely to have foundation issues.

Yes, you can fix a block foundation. It’s important to address the issue immediately and have a foundation repair professional understand the severity of the issue and determine the best course of action. If the wall collapses before the foundation is repaired, then you’ll have to reassess your entire foundation.

If improperly installed, an egress window can compromise your foundation’s structural integrity, so it’s important to work with a pro to ensure your foundation remains in good shape. Any money you may save on a DIY egress window installation may cost you in the long run if your foundation is damaged in the process.
