CHUCK'S SANDJACKING

No sand jacking was done. I heard all kinds of machine noise. His worker caulked the space between the house and driveway. He came to my door and said he caulked it for free. After he left, I checked to see how far he jacked the slab because I marked it. It wasn't jacked at all. I called Chuck. At first he agreed to come out to look but he never did. Then he decided that I only wanted the caulking done for $400. I told him no idiot would pay 400 for some caulking. He said my Wife and I were idiots then and hung up. He blocked my calls so I post every year my story on Facebook in hopes that nobody gets screwed by him. He's a fraud. He owes me $400 and an apology. Until then, I'll speak out against him on any media until he pays up

He did nothing but squirt caulk in the space between my driveway and the house. He charged me $400. When I called he said he would come back and fix it. He never did and when I asked for my money back, he called me a effing idiot and hung up. He's had my number blocked for years so I share my story about him every year at this time on Facebook and until he gives me my money back, I hope he loses much more. Never do business with Chuck. Chuck sucks

Well we were a little skeptical at first for hiring a contractor from another town. We were happy from the start with JayDee and his crew. They called 2 days before they showed up to work and had everything done in about 3 days. I have purchased another property and had them pour the frost walls for an addition onto the house. Thanks again Chris Eggl

We were originally going to do a paver patio on our own, but a neighbor across the street had these guys do his patio, and INSISTED that I get a quote from them before doing my own work. I was pretty shocked by how reasonable their price was, and it became a no-brainer to have them do it. I drew out what I wanted for the patio, including a square portion with a circle section on one corner, and they created exactly what I wanted. They even replaced an existing single piece of walkway (by a door) that I hadn't expected them to do. They were great guys to work with, and were very careful to not wreck our lawn while doing the patio on the back of the house. They laid down plywood for the skid steer loader to drive on, and carried the cement wheelbarrow by wheelbarrow around the house. They worked quickly, and were were fun to chat with. I've already recommended them to multiple friends, and now I'm the one INSISTING that they get quotes from these guys. Check them out at http://www.prettyconcrete.com

His crew came in did the excavation and laid a 6and quot; gravel base on Friday then came back the following Tuesday as Monday rained and finished the pour. The work looks great he even advised me on staining and who to contact locally for products and advice. His crew was professional and polite. I do Architectural drafting and estimating, have done concrete in the past and am finishing a B.S in Construction management. With this in mind I am anal about work performed, site safety and quality. If I had any little complaint i would have voiced it and request he make changes. As it worked out I am 100% satisfied and am already planing to use him again when I trim trees or extend my driveway next year

First day removed all the concrete and set up form. Poured the concrete the next day. The border was done with a special tool and color was added. As they worked they continually cleaned up after themselves. The owner worked with the crew and he kept in contact to update the process. Would hire again and recommend the company

My overall experience with them was good, and I would use them again. There was a group of about 4 people working on my home.

The work was all quality. The walls are straight, it was a no-nonsense crew, and they got the work done when they were supposed to. The owner was there throughout the whole time the concrete work was being done even though he had two or three crews going.

it went really well - if doing work my self I would have did a couple things different to minimize weight of steps but overall very satisfied

"We hired Safe Basements to fix a problem with water leaching into our basement. One wall of the finished area of our basement doesn't have drywall/sheet rock, but instead has skim-coated mud and then paint directly on top of the cinder block. Since we moved into this house 5 years ago, we'd had water leaching in through that wall almost every year. We asked Safe Basements to come out and take a look, and they said that groundwater was filling up the cinder block, and that installing drain tile and a sump pump would direct the water into a trench and out of the house, thus fixing the problem. So, we hired them to fix it in November 2017, at a cost of about $5000. After they completed their work, we sanded down the previous damage to the wall, re-did the skim-coat, primed it and painted it to complete the repair ourselves. In March 2019, after all of the snow we got in February began to melt, we noticed that the paint on that same wall was completely blistered, with water once again leaching through the cinder block wall and breaking through the paint. It was exactly the same problem we thought was repaired. We called Safe Basements, and they visited twice. The person I spoke to over the phone said that sometimes the drain tile "system gets overwhelmed" and used "Act of God" to describe the heavy snowfall in February (language which is in the warranty and would ostensibly relieve them from any further responsibility). One of their staff who visited the house told us that the placement of our downspout outside of the wall would void the warranty, though the warranty materials do not address a specific distance requirement. They also pointed out that some water had come through our basement window, but that does not explain the water leaching through the cinder block. It seemed to us as if they were reaching for any reason to void their lifetime guarantee. However, regardless of whether the warranty is void or not, the most problematic issue for us is that upon viewing the new water damage, their staff told us that due to the nature of that finished wall, because it was mud over concrete as opposed to drywall with a vapor barrier, the concrete "couldn't breathe" and was therefore soaking up the water so it didn't flow to the trench that they'd installed below. This is exactly how the wall was when we first hired them, so we are at a loss as to why they either 1) didn't realize the construction of that wall in the first place, or 2) advised us to install drain tile that was apparently never going to effectively solve the original problem. We relied on their expert advice about how to address our problem, so we are disappointed that they sold us a solution that they reasonably should have known wouldn't work. Safe Basements has advised us to re-grade the exterior, which we have begun to do, and to either completely expose the cinder block on that wall (effectively unfinishing our basement) or install drywall (which isn't feasible due to the placement of a stairwell). The drain tile system is slowly working to some extent, and indeed, some of the blistering that caused us to call them has receded, but the blistered paint is still noticeable and needs to be fixed. So our original problem remains unsolved and we will incur more costs to repair that wall and try to keep water out of our basement. It seems to us that we could have just addressed the exterior grading in the first place rather than installing the drain tile, spending a fraction of the cost to get likely the same result.

"They're fabulous and we won't to go anyone else, they did a fabulous job!"
"They were able to get the slab almost back to perfect alignment. Due to their process there are no holes in my concrete and I could drive on it immediately. They always returned my calls quickly and provided me an estimate which they stuck to. I was also provided a 2 year warranty. My only complaint was they didn't give me a window of when they were going to perform the service. They just showed up one Saturday. I was home, so it wasn't a big deal.

"To Expert House Movers
We wanted to let you know just how pleased we are with the work you did on our house. Before we contacted you, we had several other contractors look at our home. We actually had hired another contractor, who took such a long time, never returned our calls, missed meetings, and took months to even get us our bid. And when that contractor did get us our bid, it was more than doubled our previously discussed budget!
That is when we called you, you came out immediately, was extremely professional, but more importantly, you had a personal interaction with both me and my wife throughout the entire process. You answered all our phone calls, all of our questions, and talked with us throughout the entire process. We felt extremely confident and assured through the entire lift. This house is our dream house and we are going to live in it until we die, and you knew how much it meant to us, and you took care of it as if it were your own.
As you know, my wife ended up in the hospital with some complications with her surgery while you were working on our home, and you took such great care of our house. You knew she was very disappointed that she could not be there, as she designed the foundation window placements and had a big part in the doors and steps. Your crew was so kind and so professional and meticulous, that they knew that two particular windows were very important to my wife. Your crew wanted to get them perfect and asked me some questions about them, that I could not answer. My wife was feeling better, but still in the hospital, and I called her on the phone, while your crew waited for me, as she and I discussed for several minutes the exact placement of the windows. Some minor changes had to be made and your crew could have easily just slapped the two windows in the new location, which was only slightly off of the original plan, and be done with it, but they stopped and pointed out where my wife originally wanted them and the new location difference and wanted to be sure that my wife understood the change, and wanted me to talk to my wife first. I was so very impressed that they made the adjustments on the spot that my wife suggested over the phone. I don’t think any other company would have gone through this much trouble to please their customers!
You also were very respectful of our property, neighbors, and your crew were always very willing to stop and explain the process of what was going to happen next. Not one time did we ever feel like we were in your way. Actually, it was the opposite, we felt like you and your crew were very excited to show us your equipment and how it worked and actually wanted us around so we could see how it all worked and so we could see for ourselves how everything was perfect - and it was!
We will always remember you and think of you so highly. Thank you for making the beginning our home building so easy and off to such a perfect start. There are so many things that can go wrong when redoing a home, and having it go off with such a perfect start gives us such great hope. You have certainly set bar very high for the other contractors that will be coming in for the other parts of the home! Your company and its crew should be very proud of its work. You do a job that is very difficult, complex and tedious, but you do it with care, expertise, and perfection. We actually miss you guys and wish you were around. You are like family to us. We only wish we could rate your service and staff A++ , if there were such a rating.
All our best and blessings,
Randy and Elizabeth

"The guy came to bid literally the same night I left a message on the machine. Great, personable guy. Knowledgeable too, I just drescribed to him the problem as I saw it, and he articulated the solution as he saw it. The price quoted was pretty reasonable I thought.

Within a couple of weeks the job is already done. What I appreciated most about the job is that they did some concrete patching work that wasn't in the bid ... they just did it anyway. That is work I would have had to do myself eventually if I ever got around to it ... and it wouldn't have looked as professional that is for sure. The only reason I give them a B is because, though the leveling that they did is probably perfectly fine/necessary, I look at some of the areas and wonder if it shouldn't be even higher. But I'm just Joe Homeowner ... typically I leave the expert stuff to the experts. No complaints really, I wouldn't hesitate to call these guys if you are looking to do concrete work because of soil erosion. Most concrete outfits I called won't give a small job the time of day, these guys appreciate your business and are good at what they do.

Hand-written on the bill were some instructions and suggestions ... I appreciated that.
