"Our project involved: Bamboo removal and barrier installation Excavation/Grading Circular pea gravel driveway installation Landscape Lighting Seeding/Straw Paver path installation Cameron and his team removed the remnants of a large bamboo grove which involved excavation of both rhizome fragments and giant mats of roots almost three feet down, a compromised asphalt driveway, removing a large holly tree and stumps, grading, installing a 75 foot long concrete bamboo barrier along the property line, temporarily uninstalling a fence (and reinstalling it afterwards), working around utlities and drains on a very tight property line with our neighbors who opted not to remove bamboo on which straddled our properties. It was a delicate process in several ways. They went above and beyond in order to eradicate and prevent regrowth from the neighbor's property. Removal of a number of dump truck loads of bamboo contaminated debris and bringing in more good soil to recreate the area with a swale and seed/straw the area. Drainage was a major issue to address using careful grading and river rock as a border. The other half of this project was to install a circular driveway. Cameron was very flexible with the design and install process which involved excavation, fabric, ABC, and pea gravel installation, as well as river rock borders to maximize drainage. The driveway project also involved seeding/straw, landscape lighting, removal, redesign and re-installation of a paver walkway, and expanding our mulched landscape beds. Cameron and his team attacked the project and the bamboo removal with what seemed like a personal vengeance which any bamboo owner will greatly appreciate! They worked fast, thoroughly, addressed any questions we had on a daily basis, and addressed details like tree trimming to allow truck access, driveway repair from those trucks, and completing a tag list with the best attitude. Every project has a snafu here and there, but with Cameron it was easy to discuss and amend reasonably. We have done many, many projects in our 25 years of marriage and this contractor experience was the best one yet. Our property has been transformed and we no longer have to battle the extremely invasive bamboo that was here for decades before us, and was very time consuming to contain. Cameron and his team worked so well together, were always open to our input as some design issues evolved as the realities of the project unfolded. We look forward to hiring Carolina Southern Scapes again in the future. Can't recommend him enough. I would post photos but I don't see an option for that here."

"I needed help with some shrub removal and planting in my front landscape, and got several quotes. I already had the plants, soil, fertilizer, and materials needed, but am not physically able to dig by myself. I had a means of disposing of the removed materials, so there was no haul-away included. Along with the planting, I needed to have a decorative stone wall repaired because it was starting to lean. Again, labor only. I was looking for a company that could do both. The bids for the planting work, which was straightforward and simple labor, were in the range of $400, except for New East Landscapes. Their price was much higher for the planting work, but they assured me they could do the planting within a couple of days and also repair the stone wall within 2 weeks for what seemed to be a very fair additional price. Because they seemed to know exactly what to do with the wall, and showed pictures of other projects they had done, I decided to pay the higher price so I could have one company complete both tasks. They emailed written quotes for the work, which I signed and returned. They told me the time they would come to do the planting work on Sunday, a couple of days later. The work on the wall would be done when they could fit it in, but within two weeks. On Sunday April 9, they arrived more than an hour late, so late that I was concerned they weren't coming. They did the planting work which took them less than 1.75 hours to complete. They clearly knew their plants, placed them where I asked, and the work was competent, but this job did not actually require 3 workers, which is what they brought. I paid them for that work and asked to schedule the wall repair. Xavier told me he would call me to schedule the time within two weeks and would find out the cost of a few stones that were needed to support the wall. He never called me back. I attempted to follow up with them by several phone calls, which went to voicemail that was not accepting messages. Also sent text messages and email. No response of any kind from them, and it has now been a month since they promised to return to complete the work. The wall is looking increasingly unstable and the work still needs to be done."
