If I could award negative stars to Leak Squad, I surely would. It is an ordeal to recount my experience with this Charlotte-based company that ended up costing me thousands extra by simply using the company at all. A year ago, I solicited Leak Squad to detect a leak in my pool. Entrusting them with this responsibility and paying them a hefty fee felt like a sound investment in the long-term health of my pool. Little did I know that my trust would be as misplaced as their purported expertise. Leak Squad's technician came and cited one simple leak after being at my pool for 15 minutes-- which cost me over 600 dollars. They then had the audacity to present an astronomical quote of approximately $6,000 for the repair. My gut said no, and I personally fixed the leaky skimmer myself for literally less than $40. Fast forward six months. My pool continued to leak horribly, causing my water bill to escalate. The persistent problem forced me to hire another company. I was utterly flabbergasted when the new company’s technician found not one but six leaks, including a massive defect so conspicuous that I was told, “any amateur leak detector should have found in five minutes.” The ineptitude of Leak Squad is staggering. They either lack the basic skills required for leak detection or there was a willful neglect in their inspection. In either case, it is abundantly clear that Leak Squad does not deserve the hard-earned money of consumers seeking genuine assistance. It's troubling to think that I placed my faith in a company that was incapable of, or unwilling to, provide the very service it proclaims to specialize in. I hope this review serves as a clarion call for others to think twice before engaging with Leak Squad. Be wary of their exorbitant quotes and question the competence of their inspections. You might save yourself the frustration, wasted time, and unnecessary financial losses that I endured. In short, Leak Squad, you had one job, and you botched it beyond measure.

After Leak Squad thoroughly tested my pool, no one wants to hear that they have a leak three feet under concrete and dirt in their PVC skimmer line. Oh, and by the way, the PVC line may be encased in concrete thus adding to the cost. (Naturally for me, it was.) But, since that was the reality, I could not have had a better person than Roy to do the repair. He was punctual, professional, friendly and hard working. He informed me each step of the way as to what he found and what was needed. It's nice now to not worry about it and have to add at least a half inch of water to the pool every day. Roy is a valuable asset to your company and I would use Leak Squad again.

Roy came out again for us and replaced a broken skimmer on our pool. He also fixed the back wash pipe in our pool house that had been leaking water inside whenever we would run it. He was not the person who initially put together all the pipes in the pool house , but while he was in there he double checked everything and tightened something that he noticed was loose as well. He had to remove big square section of Brick pavers to access the skimmer, that would be placed back after work was completed. He did a very nice job at removing pavers, even putting up a barrier to prevent dust and debris from getting into the pool as he worked. When he was done he placed the bricks back with mortar really taking his time so that they looked just the way they did before the job! He performed good quality work and was very professional and thorough in his work the whole time.. We would definitly use him again and recommend him to others!!! Always ask for ROY!

inground pool was losing unusually high amount of water after new liner was installed. Pool installer recommended the Leak Squad because in the past they did an A+ job. First time they came they were here they were late and spent less than 20 minutes and then demanded the $300 fee. Guy said it was the underwater light. He didn't perform the 3-4 hours of testing that was promised and guaranteed. Called them 4 days later because our bank stated someone tried to cash check written to the Leak Squad instead of depositing it. We let the Leak Squad know we were dissatisfied with the service and felt we were robbed because nothing was done as guaranteed for the $300 fee nor were any repairs were offered or done either. Leak Squad sent someone out again two (2) weeks later. Different guy came in 27-32 degree weather and was late. This guy spent most of his time in his vehicle because of the outside temp, was here about 1-1 1/2 hr. said it was the light, wouldn't guarantee a repair, said the system seemed fine, and left. These guys are very unprofessional, they won't repair anything, said they would send us a detailed report (never received one), would forward the results to the pool builder (never done), and have never done anything to warrant a $300 service call. Very Dissatisfied.

I was thrilled that someone answered the phone when I called. He was professional and explained their fees ($299 leak detection flat fee + cost of repair) and told me he could get us on the schedule for the following day. He provided a rough time estimate, but promised to call in the morning to confirm when the technicians would arrive. I was impressed with the reasonable charge (no surcharge for cooler Fall temps) and how quickly they were able to get us on the schedule. The following day, he called as promised and the technicians arrived when expected. There were two guys who worked quickly to assess the situation. They were friendly and appeared highly knowledgeable. They quickly discovered a leak around our light conduit and offered to show me the leak. They did continue to assess the pipes and skimmer to confirm there were no additional leaks. They repaired the leak with a butyl tape patch. The repair cost $185, so our total bill was $484. They offered us the option to invoice us and pay upon invoice or pay by check at the completion of service. I opted to pay by check. A few days later, I received my invoice and receipt by e-mail. Although I hope we do not have any leaks in the near future, if we do, I will definitely be calling Leak Squad. From our experience, their price was very reasonable, their responsiveness was excellent, and the quality / service was impressive. It has been a week since the repair and we have had no issues.

I found Leak Squad (Angel) to be very responsive and they returned my calls promptly. Within a day, two technicians (Paul and Vince) were able to assess my vinyl liner and pool plumbing to identify (and fix) two minor leaks in the liner and a break in the pool return line.

Super, from the beginning Angel was great and promptly scheduled the service, then worked primarily Roy after that who when they ran into some unexpected issues stayed with it until it was completed. I would definitely use them again.

The Leak Squad was highly recommended by a good friend. I called and they came out same day. I was provided the option of patching or totally replacing. Vic explained the pros and cons of both. Very professional. I now also highly recommend them

We had two pool leaks that were nasty to find.  One was in a light conduit, and another was in a seam of the liner.
I tried multiple ways of finding the leak myself, but was unable to find it.
Leak Squak promptly found my leaks, and was able to get my pool back to 100%.  Awesome work.

They were able to find the leak in a short amount of time.  I was then able to have my plumber repair the leaky pipe.

In late April 2015, my concrete, in-ground pool was leaking badly and I couldn't figure out where the problem lay.  After several days of trying to find it myself, I called Vic at the Leak Squad and asked him to come out and find and repair the problem.
Vid and his senior tech scheduled me for the next day, arrived at the scheduled time, and found the leak (one of them) in the pool light conduit.  The water temperature was in the 50's, but they had SCUBA equipment and dove in to repair the light.
Two days later water was still coming out of the pool, but not at the light, and I was worried that the $325 they'd charged to find the leak and the $125 to repair it was going to be only the beginning of my expense related to the leaking.
To my surprise and pleasure, Vic and his senior repairman came out three more times, exploring the entire drain and pump system, found a serious problem in both drains (valves stuck open and damaged).  They cleaned up the problem, replaced both valves, and repaired the drains.  Great job, and the leaks were fixed.
They didn't charge me a dime extra for the multiple visits and multiple repairs.  They were professional, courteous, and determined to make me satisfied.  I highly recommend them.
