"We recently used Warren & Sons Plumbing for a severe clog in our plumbing system in our home that we just purchased. Brandon came out on Christmas Eve to diagnose the drainage/plumbing issues and was able to quickly identify the source of the problem and offer some solutions. He quoted us very reasonable prices and we were relieved that the total ended up being less than he initially estimated. Brandon was very transparent and kept us informed on the status of the repairs throughout the entire process. I’ve never had an expert explain everything so simply and make sure that I understood what was going on. I cannot express how much we appreciate all that he did to solve this problem for us and allow us the ability to finally enjoy our new home! You can’t beat his dependable work and affordable prices. I am referring Brandon from Warren & Sons to all of my family and friends for all of their potential plumbing needs!"

"Very pleasant experience. They were on time and completed the job in very short notice. This is the second time I have had to call a plumber and called them. They will be my "go-to" plumber from now on."

"Actually Fairbanks removed my garden tub and installed a walk-in tub with hydrotherapy. The project included an electrian & 2 plumbers....they were profession, efficient, and very approachable. The Project Team did a good job scheduling & handling any other issues or questions I had. The salesman for Koehler was excellent, also."

"Ooommee LLC was great to work with. Danzy, the owner, was very personable. He was very helpful and understanding. My husband and I had a very strained budget, yet he did everything he could to work around that when no one else would even give it a shot. The basement was not an easy renovation by any means. He collaborated with other pros to get what needed to be done finished & done in the time frame we needed. By the end of this project Danzy felt like family to us. Thank you to all who helped complete this renovation for my family. We are truly grateful! 110% recommend Ooommee LLC for great affordable services for your home."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Some older homes have toilets in the basement to combat sewage backups. This type of toilet, also known as a Pittsburgh potty, acted as a safety valve over the incoming sewer line. If a line backed up, it would back up into the toilet because it was the lowest fixture in the home, keeping it out of sight and away from the finished areas of the house.

Basement toilets were also used by workers with messy jobs, like those who worked in coal mines or steel mills. This way, they could clean up and avoid tracking dirt through their home.

Fixing plumbing prevents water damage, conserves water potentially lost by leaks, and improves home convenience and efficiency.

If you've discovered a rather frightening buildup of brown and black gunk below your shower cover, you're not alone. The smelly sludge is often a collection of mildew and biofilm. Biofilm comes from the breakdown of soap scum, hair, skin cells, and bacteria that collects during shower time. It's quite common in a humid space and relatively easy to clean with a gentle DIY cleaning solution such as baking soda and vinegar.

No, you don’t need to use plumber’s putty to install a sink drain. Other options are available, such as silicone putty or silicone caulk. Plumber’s putty is the traditional method and it’s easier to work with and easier to remove. It doesn’t need to dry before using. Silicone putty should dry before you use the drain.

While flooding is always cause for alarm, certain situations are considered more urgent than others. If there is water pooling anywhere in your basement, it’s time to call a local emergency plumber ASAP. Standing water in your basement could be from a plumbing leak or from cracks in your foundation—either situation can go from minor to major very quickly. On average, the cost to hire an emergency plumber ranges from $100 and $500, depending on the scope of the repair and when you call them—calling an emergency plumber on the weekend or on a holiday will cause the rate to jump.
