The Chimney Doctor is a family owned and operated business for over the past 15 years. We specialize in the cleaning and repair of wood burning fireplaces, gas logs, chimney caps, and dryer vents for residential and commercial properties. Over the past 15 years; our honesty, dependability, experience, and “word of mouth” has earned us a profound reputation in providing our customers with the best service offered in this line of work. We take pride in our work and put 110% into every job we are called upon; no matter how big or small the job may be. There is one thing we don’t stand for when it comes to doing business with any of our current or future customers; that one thing is doing “bad business”! To eliminate the possibility of unsatisfied work, we stick to running our business from within the family. We want to make sure our customers are fully satisfied with our work prior to leaving the job. Although our main office is based out of Shallotte, North Carolina; we have recently expanded our services to the residents of South Carolina. We look forward to doing business with you. North Carolina Main Office, 910.755.5150

"Original install was fine. Unfortunately after 4 years the compressor went bad. We had a written 5 year warranty through him since it was an almost new used unit. We were told that the compressor was covered but not the refrigerant which was going to be close to $1,000 dollars. He supposedly had it ordered. Checked back a week or so later, and he said he would look into it. That was the last correspondence. He would not answer or return phone calls. Now we get to pay someone over $3,000 to repair it. Not recommended."

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

The right way to vent a gas water heater is to have a pipe directly upward or slopes upward out of the house. Because hot air naturally rises, this type of venting will efficiently ensure that all gas moves out of the house. Your system may rely on fans or blowers as well.

Professionals can recommend efficient layouts or appliances and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Appliances typically connected to a gas line include gas stoves, water heaters, furnaces, and gas fireplaces. Essentially, any appliance in your home that uses gas needs to be connected to a gas line, which connects your home with the main gas line owned and operated by your gas company.

Fixing a gas leak can take anywhere from one to 24 hours, depending on the location and magnitude of the problem. A gas line specialist or gas plumber should be able to give you an estimated time to completion once they evaluate the situation. If your city’s utility company works to fix a gas leak, it will likely have information available about the anticipated time for gas service to be restored.

Yes. There are a variety of standard pipe sizes used in plumbing. The main supply line connecting your home to the street is either 3/4 or 1 inch in diameter. Supply lines are 3/4 inch in diameter. Individual components are 1/2 inch in diameter. Meanwhile, your main drainpipe is often 4 inches wide. Most shower and bathtub drains are 2 inches in diameter, most toilet drains are 3 inches in diameter, and most sink drainpipes are 1 1/4 or 1 ½ inches in diameter.
