"Cecil, the owner, was fantastic. He fully described what would be done and provided me an estimate on the spot, which was extremely reasonable. My driveway was a disaster before hand. They repaired the holes, fixed the edges and double sealed the entire driveway. It looks great and is expected to make the driveway last another 5-10 years. Other companies I had come out to estimate the job wanted to do a complete tear out and re-pave it at a significant cost."

Whether it's worth it to install a heated driveway depends on how often you'll use it, your lifestyle, and your budget. While paving a driveway is possible to do as a DIY project, we don’t recommend it. Hiring a driveway professional to pave it will ensure that your driveway looks neat and clean and lasts for years to come, and it will also prevent a weak driveway and, potentially, damage to your foundation. Paving a driveway requires heavy machinery, and while you can rent the equipment needed, operating it close to your garage slab or around your home’s foundation can crack it and lead to structural issues. 

You can pour concrete over asphalt if it’s in good condition, thick, stable, and well-compacted. Concrete is more durable than asphalt and can extend the lifetime of your driveway without having to pay frequent asphalt driveway repair costs or replace it completely. 

But this is best reserved as a temporary solution based on budget restraints, as asphalt requires more frequent repairs and assessments than concrete. Once that concrete top is poured, it’ll be harder to accurately understand what’s happening beneath that layer, which could lead to more issues.

The best way to stop your pavers from sinking is to ensure you've properly compacted the base layers. Use your paver compactor and work over the base layer several times to create the hardest possible base. If the soil and sand of your base are compact, you’ll experience less shifting and sinking.
