"The job was to create a low retaining wall along my driveway. This included creating a drain and runoff pipe. The result was very good. The project was finished in a timely manner. The group also refaced my mailbox and driveway gate which had deteriorated. This project was also well done. In addition to the stonework, they have also replaced decking. "I was very happy with the service I received from Ricky Mcintyre and Carolina Creations Landscaping. Prior to the work being done on Sept 15, 2020, Ricky came out to my house several times to discuss my needs and to make sure that what he had in mind would get the job done. On the day the work was done, there was an item which had been purchased for the job, the cost of which was included in my cost. However, the item was not used so Ricky reduced my cost but that amount. I appreciated his honesty. I would definitely hire him and his company again because I feel I can trust them."

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Your professional may lengthen your road to create switchbacks if the slope directly to your home is too steep, as there are regulations for maximum road slope. The drainage system will help prevent runoff from the higher side of the slope from damaging the asphalt or concrete. Keep in mind that building a road on a slope isn’t a good DIY project, as a lot can go wrong.

While some areas may allow for a slope of up to 20%, this is often the maximum slope for driveways, with a few exceptions of up to 25%. While water-related pressure caused by poor drainage is one common cause of paver cracking, other factors can include ground movement beneath pavers, heavy loads and wear and tear over the pavers, and climates with constant freeze-thaw cycles. In general, pavers should be resealed every three to five years to prevent cracking.
