"These guys, from GW the sales man to Bradley and Adam the installers were first class. I would recommend them to anyone, both the salesman and service techs were here at the time they said , not one min. late and their care for their work is second to none. Having been in the building business for years, I can say these guys are growing a co. on quality service bar none. Also the care they have for your house is great, from start to finish, couldn't tell anyone ever set foot in my house. Also the price was hard to beat.

"We are thrilled with their work, Mitch was easy to talk to, arrived on time, explained his procedures well and did an excellent job of insulating an older home without having to tear down walls. We definitely recommend Carolina Energy Concepts, LLC for retro insulation and all insulation. We will hire him again if needs arise."

"Mike and Enrique showed up early and worked non-stop insulating my attic and my basement ceiling. I would recommend Farrell Holdings to anyone seeking to have insulation work done. Mike Morin explained exactly what he would be doing, before blowing the insulation in the attic he filled what he considered vulnerable or weak areas with a sealant. He did a pressure test before and after the application of the insulation to determine how well we would benefit from the added insulation. If you're looking for professionals this is the place to call."

"The quality and professionalism demonstrated by Rich and his crew was exemplary. I was offered a modest but helpful military discount and it helped overall because i had both my attic and crawlspace insulated. The thermostat has not been touched since the install and the house maintains a cool 74 degrees easily. My energy bill has already gone down."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

If you’re moving wires, installing new wires, or installing new fixtures in the space you’re insulating, then you will need to hire a licensed electrician to do that portion of the job for you. However, if you just intend on replacing old insulation or adding new insulation over existing insulation, then you don’t need to hire one. Your insulation installer will work around wiring, fixtures, outlets, and switches, even if they’re installing fiberglass batts in the voids where wires run. However, you will need an electrician if you suspect a problem with your wiring during the insulation work.

Spray foam insulation can last between 80 and 100 years, depending on the type. Closed-cell spray foam is more durable, while open-cell foam is more susceptible to moisture damage and deterioration. It's important to consult a professional installer to understand which type of foam will be used and its specific longevity. Additionally, be aware that some spray foams can damage plastic piping, so if you have PVC or CPVC pipes, discuss this with your installer.

The lifespan of insulation depends on the material type. Fiberglass can last between 80 and 100 years, but it is important to start checking it around the 15-year mark. Spray foam has a lifespan of up to 100 years, and mineral wool can last up to 100 years. Cellulose, an eco-friendly option, has a lifespan of 20 to 30 years.

Cellular shades, also known as honeycomb shades, are the most energy-efficient and insulating window treatments. Their honeycomb structure is made of soft fabric that forms layered cell pockets. These pockets trap air, creating a thermal barrier that reduces heat loss in the winter and blocks heat gain in the summer. For even greater insulation, consider double- or triple-cell varieties. Side-tracked cellular shades, which seal the edges of the window frame, can further minimize air leaks and maximize energy efficiency.

Although the cost might seem high, winterizing your home is important for your health and the structural integrity of your home. Winterizing will keep your home warm and toasty during the cold months and prolong the life of your appliances, windows, pipes, sprinkler system, pool, and more.
