"I have engineered hardwood flooring that was showing random damaged areas and I had no clue what was causing it. Jason from Creative Flooring Solutions came out and looked at the situation and gave me a quote on the labor to pull the flooring up and put new flooring down after we discover what was causing the damaged areas. It turned out to be termites. It was a small job, but Creative Flooring Solutions was kind enough to take it on anyway, which I greatly appreciated. They showed up on schedule to do the job, vacuumed & cleaned up any debris, I then had a termite guy come out to do his thing, and Creative Flooring returned at a later date to put the new flooring down. You can’t even tell there was ever an issue now. The communication was great whenever I had questions, the pricing was extremely fair and reasonable, and I was very pleased with the outcome & end result. Highly recommend this business! Pic shows end result after new flooring was put down."

"I hired Refloor to come back and do my basement too. The installation was delayed due to stock shortage but the floors are in and they are beautiful. I hired my own painter to stain the moldings to match the floors. The floors look so much like real wood. Great job!"

Small jobs welcome

"Ron Ward and his team were excellent. He helped us match laminate flooring for our downstairs to our wood floors in the rest of the house. They also added wood flooring to our staircase. The job wad done on time and efficiently for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Nylon carpet is widely considered one of the most durable and longest-lasting options, typically lasting 12 to 15 years. Its durability comes from its high resistance to wear, tear, stains, fading, and abrasions. It also resists liquid spills, insects, mold, and mildew, making it ideal for high-traffic areas like living rooms and hallways. For even greater longevity, frieze or Berber carpets are excellent choices that can last up to 20 to 25 years.

Beyond the material, a carpet's construction is key to its durability. Low-pile carpets with short, tight loops hold up better against wear than high-pile options. As a synthetic material, nylon is available in a vast range of colors and styles and often feels remarkably soft.

If the stairs are already covered in carpet, you will need to remove the old carpet and possibly the carpet pad. Any damage to the stairs like cracks, loose boards, or creaky treads may also need to be repaired. You may also want to sand and refinish or paint wood stairs before installing a carpet runner.

Laminate flooring takes about 24 to 48  hours to settle. Before this, planks are not completely acclimated to your home, and walking on them could cause shifting and permanent damage to the flooring. You should allow floorboards to acclimate for 48 to 72 hours before installing so that they can adjust to your home’s humidity and temperature levels, but they will continue to acclimate and settle after installation. For this reason, avoid placing any furniture in the room for 72 hours after installation.

Your floors will continue to settle for a few months after installation, becoming less bouncy as they rest.

While it's possible to cover asbestos tile with carpet, it's not recommended. Encapsulating tile beneath carpet doesn't eliminate the health risks. Over time, the asbestos tiles could degrade, releasing fibers into the air and potentially contaminating the carpet. Disturbance during carpet installation or removal might also release fibers.

It’s possible to reuse household materials to cover floors, but they won’t provide the same level of protection as dedicated materials. They’re also more difficult to tape down and more prone to slipping and bunching up—and any dirt or debris on them could scratch or stain your floors. That being said, extra materials like these can be useful for protecting the sides of furniture and placing in areas that could use added protection.
