"Mike responded right away to my request and was available when I was available -- twice! (I accidentally cancelled my first appointment when I was sleepy). He came out and after trying several things, we both agreed that the reason my disposal wasn't working was because it tired out after 18 years. He went an purchased a new one and came back and installed it all within 1 1/2 hours. Very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I would definitely hire him again."

We can do all your “honey-do” items in a few hours. We maintain your home and keep your home safe for your family. We clean gutters, windows, dryer vents, softwash home, install or replace smoke or carbon fiber alarms, plus many other items!

"HomeSmiles Asheville accomplished their 18 point full service package on our home. The technicians were courteous, prompt, and exceptionally knowledgeable about all aspects of the service. Especially notable was the gutter cleaning and dryer vent cleaning (20+ ft of vent), two things we definitely needed but too much for the typical homeowner to do on their own. I highly recommend their services!"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Building a pool yourself will take at least eight to 12 weeks. After all, this is the building timeline after hiring a pool contractor who knows how to draw up plans, analyze your landscape, and apply for proper permits. If you choose to tackle any part of the process alone, assume building a pool will take two to three months at a minimum.

A pool builder can advise you on the best design for your property and vision, and can walk you through the process from design to a swim-ready pool. Knowing which questions to ask a pool builder can help ensure you choose the right person for the job.

A few factors influence the time it takes for a pool to heat up, including the size of your pool, the temperature outside, and how much direct sunlight is hitting the water in the pool. With these factors in mind, it takes 12 to 72 hours to raise the temperature in a pool by 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

While you can run a pool heater all day, it is advised only to run it during the day, as it is more energy efficient. At night, it is better to purchase a solar pool cover to retain the heat within the pool.

You cannot DIY a gunite pool—unless, of course, you’re a homeowner who happens to also be a professional pool installer. And even pros need to have experience with gunite pools, in particular, before installing one. Only a skilled gunite pool technician can install this type of pool—it’s not a project you can do yourself.

Generally speaking, most municipalities require you to get a permit when you build a pool. Whether or not you need a permit to install a plunge pool will depend on your local laws. It’s always better to check with your HOA and town clerk before digging for a new pool. Otherwise, violations could result in hefty fines.
