"Junior and his team did a fantastic job from start to finish! To start, Junior was upfront and honest during the quote, especially in areas where we could save money or piece the project out due to the large span and overall cost. Junior was very communicative regarding his scheduling and worked around our busy schedules. During the job, his crew did a fantastic job of marking and repairing the walls before painting, and the finished project was beyond our expectations. He pointed out a few areas of concern that her fixed in the drywall that we hadn’t even noticed or known to look for. As far as their professionalism, the House was almost certainly cleaner than when they came in, even during drywall repairs and sanding. This was our second project with junior and his team, and I wouldn’t hesitate to call on him again in the future! Definite 10 out of 10!"

"I would highly recommend this business.  We had them come and restain the deck and at first just powerwash the house.  They scheduled the work right away.  After doing the pressure washing, there were some areas with paint chips under the soffit.  Mike offered to repaint those for free.  During this, they noticed areas of the soffit that were rotten, so we had them repair those areas of the wood.  They also fixed a few screens that were damaged during the pressure washing for free.
Everything turned out great, and we are very happy we had this work done.  Mike and Crystal are very professional and easy to work with.  I will be having them do some more work on our house in the near future.

"This is my second time hiring John to do renovations in my home. I had such a great initial experience that I had John remodel my bathroom. As was before, John is a pleasure to work with, great at communicating about timeline and his availability, and does great quality work. John removed and installed a new toilet, vanity, lighting, and retrofitted the existing pipes. He also repaired drywall as needed, re-mounted the toilet on a newly installed floor, and installed new baseboards and quarter round. His attention to detail really shows in his work. I couldn’t have asked for a better finished product. I’ll be reaching out to John for any future renovations."

Pros:  Tom and his crew did a great job on our shower/kitchen renovation.  They were here every day 8++ hours each day for a week to get the job done as quickly as possible.  They cleaned up each day and put carpet protection down each day they were here.  I was very impressed that Tom asked frequently whether everything was to our liking.  One time, they had framed up the shower a little differently than we imagined.  I told him we were envisioning it a different way.  Without hesitation, he changed it to the way we wanted.  I really liked the fact that he frequently asked our opinion, as it can be a little nerve racking critiquing someone else's work.  In the end, everything turned out the way we wanted it.  There were a few things that needed touching up after the job was complete (and we had paid the full amount too).....he was right back out and doing what we asked, no questions asked.  Tom had great suggestions for places to get quality tile and fixtures as well, which was a blessing.  We didn't have to hunt all this down.  The places he recommended were very professional and great quality.  If you have kids, they will love him too.  We had to pry our kids off of him so he could work.  Just ask him to do the Donald Duck voice.

Cons:  There were only a couple areas where I think things could improve.  One was the informal quoting process.  We discussed the work about three different times verbally in vague terms before I received an email with the scope and price.  I was expecting a more formal contract that outlined the work in detail and my signature.  The second area of improvement was more attention to detail.  There were a few minor things here and there that could be improved (i.e. rough tile cuts; drywall sanding; switch order).  However, I will tell you that the great price, overall quality, and value more than made up for these drawbacks.  Tom was very willing to correct anything that didn't meet our satisfaction.

Overall, I would highly recommend Tom Nagle for your next bathroom/kitchen renovation project.  We anticipate doing more work on our bathroom down the road and will definitely give him a call.

Drywall questions, answered by experts

If you’re installing new drywall, you may need to skim coat the drywall first for a smooth finish and to allow the primer to adhere to the wall. It’s only necessary if there are imperfections in your drywall due to issues with the studs or improper drywall installation. If you’re refreshing existing walls, you may want to skim coat if there are imperfections across the wall. As an alternative, you can repair your drywall and sand it for a smooth finish before painting.

Options include bricks, natural stone, and concrete blocks. Choose based on durability, aesthetics, and budget.

The best tool for cutting a hole in drywall is a drywall saw. Its serrated blade and ergonomic design make it efficient for both straight cuts and more intricate shapes, ensuring clean and precise results in various drywall cutting applications.

When doing a DIY paint job, it can be tricky to achieve the perfect, straight line between your wall and ceiling. There are several methods, including lining it with painter’s tape and using the “cut in” brush tactic. Some homeowners choose to apply a thin line of caulk to the wall-ceiling seam to create the appearance of a perfect line.

While not always necessary, you can glue a drywall ceiling in addition to using screws or nails. Drywall is typically secured to ceiling joists with fasteners, which is often sufficient. However, adding construction adhesive can offer benefits like preventing sagging, bridging gaps, and reducing air leaks for better energy efficiency. It may also be used for specific acoustic or insulation needs. On the other hand, many professionals advise against it because properly placed screws make the drywall structural, glue doesn't add strength, and it makes future repairs or replacements significantly more difficult. Ultimately, it's best to follow local building codes and project-specific requirements to decide if adhesive is right for your ceiling.
