"Like many other reviewers I can't say enough good things about Mr. Junior and his team. I contacted Mr. Junior to fix a botched drywall job during my bathroom remodel. I was at my wits end with the previous contractor and just about loss faith my bathroom would ever be finished. It was one thing after another. Then came Mr. Junior. I am very satisfied with the quality of work and the professionalism of everyone on his team. Mr. Junior was very responsive to my texts/calls and walked me through every step of the process. I felt he listened to me and alleviated all my concerns. He is respectful of my home and left it cleaner than when he arrived. Other reviewers mention cost but don't be put off by the price. Are his services more than others? Perhaps, but not by much. I don't always buy into "you get what you pay for" but when it comes to drywall and painting you do. I had the peace of mind knowing the work would be done right, within budget, on time, and no corners cut. I have another big drywall and painting job coming up this fall and I am going to re-hire Clean Hands to tackle that project."

"Mike and Crystal were very professional from the first phone contact through the completion of the work. They showed up on time, their work was neat and they worked very efficiently. My windows were in pretty bad shape. They really took their time and prepped them very well which showed in the finished product. When asked to redo or touch up anything it was done without question. In the end we received a very good paint job on a timely basis and at a competitive price. I have already recommended Mike's Painting to others in my neighborhood and would use him again for future painting needs.

"Outstanding. Tom rescued us from a bad situation where repeated water damage under the shower had been eating away at our subfloor for years - to the point where it had practically rotted away. Tom treated for mold, repaired the sub floor, put in a new shower basin and drain system and re-tiled the floor and the shower. It was a big project that Tom was able to tackle exceedingly well. Let me also say that Tom really provided a personal touch to the work. You can tell he cares about his clients and will go the extra mile. Case-in-point: our bathroom and shower tile, which was about 8 years old at the time, was impossible to find. Tom went around the area to a number of dealers, but had no luck in finding the same tile. So, he painstakingly went back to his workshop and ground down many of our existing tiles so they would still match. The bathroom floor and walls of the shower look as great as they always have. Tom also completed some other punch list items we needed done around the house. Bottom line: great work, great service, great personality, and great results at a fair price. I could not be more pleased. Hire this man and you will not be sorry."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use drywall repair techniques for some types of plaster damage. Tiny holes and small cracks in plaster can be patched in similar ways to drywall. You apply the necessary compound to fill the hole, wait for it to dry, then sand it down. For larger damage, like water damage or mold, you need to use plaster-specific techniques and materials.

The amount of drywall you need for a 1,000-square-foot basement depends on the ceiling height, angles, number of doors and windows, and more. To find the wall square footage, multiply the width and height of each wall, minus any gaps from windows or doors, and add the totals together. You’ll also need enough drywood nails or screws to install the drywall correctly.

When doing a DIY paint job, it can be tricky to achieve the perfect, straight line between your wall and ceiling. There are several methods, including lining it with painter’s tape and using the “cut in” brush tactic. Some homeowners choose to apply a thin line of caulk to the wall-ceiling seam to create the appearance of a perfect line.

Plastering and skimming are two different techniques for finishing walls. Plastering involves applying a thick layer of a plaster mixture—typically containing gypsum, lime, cement, sand, and water—to create a new surface. This process often requires multiple coats and is used for repairing significant damage or creating decorative textures. Skimming, on the other hand, is a technique that involves applying a thin layer of drywall compound or joint compound over an existing surface to smooth it out, covering minor imperfections, small cracks, or uneven textures for a polished look. Plastering is generally more costly and labor-intensive than skimming. Although some people use the terms interchangeably, they refer to different processes and materials.

Yes, a fan can help drywall mud dry faster by improving air circulation and reducing humidity in the room. Drywall mud dries through evaporation, so increasing airflow speeds up this process. However, you should position the fan to blow across the room rather than directly on the wet mud. This helps prevent drying too quickly, which can cause cracking. You should also use a dehumidifier if high humidity is an issue.
