"After a devastating flood, F&M Services Group Inc swooped in and completely revitalized our home. Their team arrived promptly and efficiently removed the water-damaged materials before installing brand new flooring. We were truly impressed with their professionalism and the speed at which they completed the work. Beyond their skill, everyone we interacted with was incredibly pleasant and helpful, making a stressful situation much easier to navigate. We wholeheartedly recommend F&M Group VA to anyone in need of flood cleanup and flooring installation – they did an amazing job!"

"Totally happy with this experience! Miguel is a professional and nice to work with! I will hire him again!!! My project was small, I knew I needed a carpenter and had not had any luck finding one. Miguel’s crew knew what they were doing, were professional and efficient! This was a good experience!! We had an interior antique window installed in an opening in a wall. We also needed trim to close the gap under a new dishwasher. Both projects turned out great!!"

"We had a little trouble scheduling and communication from the office to the customer could have been better, but the work itself was well done and met all expectations."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Egress windows are typically required for basements with habitable space or living quarters. Not all basements or lower levels require egress windows. However, egress windows are required in homes with living spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms in a basement. The International Residential Code and International Building Code require sleeping rooms to have a specific size egress window. Check your local building codes to confirm the requirements in your area.

Yes, you can install a bay window in an existing house. You’ll need to have a structural engineer draw up plans to add the necessary support to your exterior load-bearing walls and a general contractor to make the changes to the framing around the new wall opening. This will cost an average of $3,000. After that work is done, a window installer can set the new bay window in place.

Yes, egress windows are grandfathered. However, this comes with some specifications. If you are remodeling a basement or adding a sleeping area, you’ll need to update the egress windows to be up to proper code. But, if you’re leaving your home as is, you do not have to adhere to these requirements.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.

Depending on size, material, and labor, two windows can cost between $600 and $1,600.
