"Highly recommended!  I contracted with Brick Solutions owner, Joe Walls, to have a badly damaged concrete driveway replaced with brick pavers.  I had previously gotten estimates for replacing the driveway with new concrete but I was concerned about damaging the roots of a very old tulip poplar tree adjacent to the driveway.  When the concrete contractor informed
me if he didn?t cut the roots he couldn?t guarantee the concrete but if he did cut the roots he could not guarantee the tree would survive, I decided to go with brick.
Joe said he could do the driveway without damaging the roots.  He broke up the old concrete with a jackhammer rather than bringing in heavy equipment.  We consulted with an arborist who told Joe what could or could not be cut.  When our plan to save a portion of the old concrete did not work out because it was too cracked Joe volunteered to break it up and replace it
with brick at no extra charge.  He worked carefully, followed all out suggestions, and managed to give us a smooth brick
driveway that looks much better than what we had before.
In short, Brick Solutions did a great job for a reasonable price and it was pleasure to work with Joe.

"The actual roofing job in 2014 went fine. We were pleased with the initial work and the price. However, the company’s follow up is sorely lacking. They responded when we had a concern about some of the new roofing within a couple of weeks. Our second issue it took much longer to get a response from them. Now in 2019, we have been trying to get them to come and check out our roof for hail damage. We can’t get anyone to call us. Just some texts and passing off of responsibility. Their customer service is poor."

Small jobs welcome

"We contracted with One Man Show for various projects…fiberglass insulation, shower enclosure repair, shutter replace/repair and various other odd jobs. Jason was always helpful and communicative at every step along the way. His work was impeccable and we’ll definitely continue to enlist his services and his advice in the future."

"From the 1st time I spoke with Eric Parker, I felt immediately comfortable talking to him about the project I wanted. I received several estimates but ultimately went with wedoconcretecheap.com because of Eric's personality & not to mention the price he quoted me. On the day the project started & the crew showed up I knew this was going to be a very pleasurable experience. That day, 8 guys and all their equipment plus Eric came to make sure the project got off to a great start. Eric introduced me to the couple of guys that he said would be able to answer any & all of my questions that day. My youngest daughter took a special liking to the gentleman that she referred to as "Santa Clause" because of his fluffy beard. The crew was extremely polite, professional & even cleaned up as they went along to avoid an extensive mess on my property. By the end of the day, when the project was complete & to my liking, the gentleman walked me around & explained what they had done and that Eric would come back out after everything had dried to inspect the finished project. I have been so pleased with this project & will recommend Eric & his crew to all my friends, family & co-workers that may need his services. Great job guys & keep up the good work."

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

While certain kits make DIY possible, professionals ensure durability and quality of finish, which is vital for high-moisture areas like baths.

Yes, adding a patio or other concrete feature can increase your property taxes, particularly if it's considered a permanent improvement. The general rule is that if the project requires a permit, your property taxes will likely go up.

Permanent structures like a poured concrete patio are considered capital improvements that require a permit, which will trigger a reassessment of your property's value. Other concrete projects that typically increase taxes include:

  • Pool decks

  • Walkways

  • Driveways

  • Steps

  • Foundations

In contrast, 'temporary' installations, such as a paver or flagstone patio, may not require a permit and are less likely to affect your property taxes.

Permit costs for a concrete patio can range from $75 to $200. While the tax increase varies based on your location and the project's size, it is often a minimal amount. Always contact your local building department before starting a project to confirm permit requirements and any potential impact on your taxes.

You can patch minor cracks and damage yourself using concrete fillers or mortar. Larger damage may require full replacement of affected slabs. However, water damage to your concrete will never disappear unless you address the root cause causing the water to cumulate. To prevent future damage, you can also waterproof your concrete.

Yes, thicker concrete is less likely to crack. The thicker the concrete is, the less susceptible it is to extreme changes in weather conditions that often cause concrete to crack or chip. If you’re unable to install a thicker concrete driveway for any reason, you can also ask your professional to install more rebar or wire mesh to provide greater strength and better resilience to damage.

Water that pools on concrete indicates a low spot somewhere on your driveway. You can level the slab with a concrete patching compound to help redirect water. You can also install drainage over existing concrete by digging out enough space for a channel drain or French drain or by adding a culvert below the slab.
