"Justin is awesome. He made my Ducts safe and healthy again. He got rid of 12 years of filth and mold. He had to completely disassemble my AC unit to clean out the mold. I'm very impressed with his intent to make sure our home was healthy."

hello! we are a young 23 year old couple and we have recently started our own house cleaning business. We have a lot of experience since my girlfriends mom has been cleaning houses for the past 15 years and she has helped her since she was younger. I have also been helping them for the past 2-3 years. We are hoping to get some more clients and be successful! We are also willing to do different tasks, just ask!

"Jim did a great job. He quickly assessed the problem and then took our unit with him to work on it more. When he got back to us, the fix would have cost more than it was worth. He gave us options for a new or refurbished PC. We felt the refurbished was a good deal and chose that. He came back and set that up and we are very happy with it. He then took a look at my laptop and again took it along. He tuned it up and installed a speed upgrade we wanted. Of course, we paid extra for the new unit and upgrades, but we thought the price was very fair. Jim seemed very knowledgeable and responsive. We will definitely call him again if we need any computer services."

"It was a good interaction. Two guys came in and they got it done quickly. They took their time to get everything and did a good job of cleaning up after themselves, so it was like they were never there. They were courteous and they were knowledgeable. I'm a first time home owner and I'm trying to get everything out of the way. They gave me some tips on how to clean or how to maintain my vents and the air ducts. They also gave me a quick lesson on the air filter too. They seemed like they wanted to help me out even though I was a young guy, so it wasn't like they were just in and out trying to get a job and moving on to the next one. It looked like they were actually putting a little bit of effort into getting repeat business. They went the extra mile and took the time to answer all of my questions."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

While it is possible to add Freon to your AC unit yourself, it is not recommended. In fact, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) prohibits the handling of Freon without a license. Freon is a dangerous gas that can cause irreversible damage to your AC or yourself if not installed correctly. It is worthwhile to hire a professional to add Freon to your AC.

There are ways to detect a refrigerant leak with several different testing methods. However, most homeowners can figure out something’s wrong with their AC unit by noticing these common signs:

  • Ice forming on the evaporator coil

  • Water leaks near the AC unit

  • Frequent hissing sounds

  • Increased electric bills

  • Unit takes longer than usual to cool

  • Unit is blowing hot air

Yes, government incentives and programs are available to encourage energy-efficient upgrades in many regions. These incentives may include tax credits, rebates, grants, and low-interest loans for homeowners who invest in energy-efficient improvements such as HVAC system upgrades, insulation, and efficient windows. The availability and specific details of these incentives can vary by location, so check with your local government or utility company to explore your options.

Some HVAC systems tend to use R410A refrigerant, although if you have an older model it may be using R22. R22 is banned due to its harmful environmental and health impacts, and it is a sign that your AC unit is old enough to consider a replacement and the significant efficiency gains that could come with it.

A calculation method that your HVAC contractor will use to ensure your system does what it's supposed to is measuring duct output, or its CFM. The calculation requires knowing the cross-sectional area of the ductwork and determining the air speed past any given point within it.
