Customers say: True professional

"Mark and his employees were very professional. Mark was able to bring my ideas to life when building an interior wall inside my store. The final product exceeded all of my expectations. I have since hired Mark to expand my office, change out light fixtures and replace my hot water heater. He was able to work around my store hours to ensure the safety of my customers and staff. All work was completed in a timely manner. I will continue to hire Mark for all of my projects."

"JG Renovations did a marvelous job repairing the siding which had been blown off by the constant winds we have been having recently. They were very cordial and explained every thing they were doing. They were efficient and arrived when they said they would. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone"

Small jobs welcome

Customers say: Quick response

"J & E Contractors makes it easy for me to recommend to family, friends, neighbors and others. I wanted an honest, reliable, professional who was competitively priced and affordable. Calling to set the appt. to discuss details was fast and easy. The estimate on the job was within a day. Once we approved the estimate they did a quick turn around providing us with a detailed and thorough contract. We knew the start date and anticipated completion date. J & E lived up to my expectations in every way. They work smart, hard and Ernesto is a perfectionist who takes great pride in his companies work and my satisfaction. My initial contract was painting the trim on my 3800 sq ft home, which expanded to the repair of my cement siding, repainting of the entire house, installing new shutters, installing new blinds in my garage, gutters cleaned, wood framing around garage replaced and two trees removed. Needless to say J & E will always be my go to general contractor who I Highly Recommend. There is nothing they cannot do."

"The team was hired to convert an attic space into an office. They arrived on time each day and were very flexible in accommodating our schedule. The work was done on time and for the quoted amount and met all our expectations. The build quality was excellent. We would happily use the team again for future projects."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Framing most homes takes anywhere between five and eight weeks to complete. You’ll need to account for inclement weather conditions, material shipment times, the number of crew members, and the weight of your materials. If the weather is too hot, wet, or cold for the installation, this process could take closer to eight weeks.

No rules state how much of a load-bearing wall can be removed. Rather, you need to adequately support any area that is removed. Support should always be added to as much wall area is being removed. Failing to support the area properly will result in structural damage.

Costs depend on furniture type, size, complexity, and whether additional modifications are needed.

When hanging a door frame, it’s recommended that you use screws, not nails. Screws are more secure, easier to tighten, and easier to remove if you need to adjust the frame. On average, the cost to replace a door frame is about $400, but you can save on labor costs if you’re confident in your ability to DIY the project.

Metal stud framing parts include the studs themselves, upper and lower tracks that act as top and bottom wall plates, various angle fasteners and clips, screws for fastening pieces togeher, metal straps, c-channel supports, and thicker steel supporting structures. Roof framing metal components include pre-fabricated trusses, heavy-gauge stud pieces, and various plates and fasteners.
