"Diego and his crew did an amazing job. They were finished in 2 days painting the interior of our home. It is beautiful. We couldn’t be happier. We have shared his contact with our entire neighborhood where the new homes were all done with cheap, flat, unwashable paint. Very pleased."

Customers say: Quick response

"Reybel not only repaired drywall, but installed a 3/4" wooden floor, which he took the time to match each piece of wood before installing. He is always on time, and shows up when he says he's going to. He also installed a double sliding door for me. His work is impeccable. I would highly recommend him."

"I was referred to Longs Services by a friend. I hired Tim to complete move out repairs in the apartment that I had resided in for more than six years. He was able to patch and blend the knockdown texture on numerous drywall holes that ranged from small to large. My dog had scratched and tore up the front door casing and created a large hole in the wall next to it and Tim was able to repair that entire area without replacing the entire door casing. There were multiple other repairs completed and a complete cleaning was done as well. Thanks to their hard work instead of owing upon my move out I received my entire deposit back. My landlord told me how much getting this done saved me and Iâ m very thankful."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Plaster is denser, harder, and more porous than drywall, so it absorbs moisture differently. This means you’ll often need more prep work, such as thorough sanding, patching, and priming with a high-quality bonding primer. Additionally, you may need more coats of paint to achieve even coverage. While the process takes more time, it helps ensure a durable and professional-looking result.

The short answer is yes, a sagging plaster ceiling is dangerous. Sagging plaster on a wall is something you should fix immediately, but it isn’t a major concern. If the same type of sagging occurs on a ceiling, however, you could be in danger of your ceiling falling in large chunks. When plaster sags, it loses its strength and ability to hold itself up. The bonds that hold it together are strong, though, so if a sagging area falls, it will take large pieces down with it.

It doesn’t matter which way you lay drywall, and you can choose to install it horizontally or vertically depending on the size of the wall and how tall the ceiling is. It’s easier to lay drywall sheets vertically if you have a taller ceiling, but laying sheets horizontally makes it easier to apply joint compound.

Drywall insulation costs around $1,800, on average, but prices can range from $500 to $4,500, depending on a few different factors. The following things are important considerations to make when pricing out your insulation project:

  • Square footage of insulation

  • Type of insulation

  • Climate in your area and the insulation R-value required

  • Whether or not your walls are already finished

  • Accessibility of the area

  • Whether or not you need old insulation removed first

Yes, taping inside corners is a critical step in the drywall installation process.  Properly taping inside corners is essential for achieving a professional look, and an installation that resists cracking and maintains its integrity over time. Taping the corners involves the application of a joint compound along the seam where two drywall pieces meet. This process provides reinforcement, conceals the seam, and prevents future gaps or cracks from developing.
