"Francisco has to be the best service contractor of any trade. Very HONEST, responsive and great quality work. We had several other basement waterproof system contractors out, and all were clueless or gave inaccurate information. Francisco's knowledge and expertise was impressive. Now, after several months and heavy rains, the basement remains perfectly dry. We called Francisco back for some minor cosmetic sealing, and he responded perfectly again, on a weekend day. You won't regret calling Francisco"

"My brother and I reached out to David Gibson of Gibson Grading & Construction to discuss a basement water issue we have been having in our mom & dad's home. I received a prompt response from David, and quickly set up an appointment. After David came and viewed our situation, he quickly responded with a very fair quote and scheduled the service within a week. David and his father did an awesome job. They addressed all our concerns, gave great advice, were friendly, and made sure everything was clean when they finised. We were extremely happy with the way our project turned out, and would highly recommend Gibson Grading & Construction. Call David, and hire Gibson Grading & Construction. You will not be sorry!"

"They did removal of old broken-down encapsulation, redid, made air-tight, waterproofed, mold and mildew treatment, French drains on two sides, drained cinder blocks, filled holes left from previous drains and vents, installed new sump pump and dug in, leveled-the slanted area for proper drainage, installed new exterior drain, relieved 4" of standing water and established proper flow. PROFESSIONALS TO THE MAX!!! It's gorgeous and clean and brilliantly done. I can't say enough good stuff about Patrick and his crew! Even after traipsing in and out with wet, muddy old encapsulation materials and debris in the rain, they left my place in sparkling condition -- NO evidence of them ever having been there! No cig stubs (they don't smoke), no old drink bottles, not even a cleaning cloth. Swept, washed drive, vac'ed ramp, washed entry ladder. VERY knowledgeable. Not my first encapsulation and sump pump situation but by far THE BEST. Quality materials, good work ethic, a pleasure!"

"Your problem solved not only did a total rip out of our bathroom but Dylan and Jared did all the work from installing the tub, the tile the vanity , installed all the plumbing fixtures , painted , repaired sheet rock , installed electrical switches , heated flooring and in addition they installed storm doors , deadbolts and cleaned up everything after each day of work , we didnâ t have multiple contractors in and out and in addition they installed a whole house water system, Dylan s expertise might be plumbing however he did a fantastic job on everything and he provided a detailed bill before they started and a detailed invoice afterwardsâ ¦ the cost was well within our budget and when it comes time to redo our basement, there is no doubt who we will call.. Highly recommend him and feel free to call me 843-694-7966"

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Having a trusted crawl space contractor is the key to great encapsulation. If you're not sure how to hire a crawl space pro, begin by asking your neighbors for referrals. Homes in your neighborhood will often have a similar foundation to your house, and personal recommendations are one of the best ways to find a contractor. Additionally, double-check that the contractor has experience with encapsulation as well as proof of their license and insurance.

The purpose of soffits is to circulate air, so a blocked soffit means the air in your attic becomes stagnant. This can lead to a number of problems, mostly moisture-related, that can cause damage to your health and your home. The good news is that unclogging soffits is relatively straightforward, and if your attic is easy to access, an easy DIY project.

If your basement often leaks after heavy rain, it’s probably caused by hydrostatic pressure. When the ground is saturated with water, it can put pressure on the exterior of your home’s foundation, causing cracks in the basement wall and pushing water through any existing weak spots. Over time, hydrostatic pressure can cause structural damage to your home.

Water that pools under pavers can erode the soil foundation and weaken the paver structure. In some situations, it can also cause mold and mildew growth. If that happens, you may need to start budgeting for the cost to build and install a patio to replace the damaged one.

If you notice standing water under the deck after rainstorms, you may need a drainage system to efficiently move this water. You do not want standing water to rest against your foundation or against support posts for the deck, as this could cause significant structural problems over time. Make sure the area has proper grading, too.
