"I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

"I will never recommend nor use Budget Blinds again. When your salesperson came and measured, I thought I was paying for the entire job, yet he had not included three windows that we had specified and that he had already measured. This oversight was not noticed until the workers came to install and I questioned why these windows were not included. The only reply was that it would be nearly another $800 (after a discount) to have them done. When I swiped my card initially, I thought it was for ALL measured windows. So, in essence the job was more expensive than I had imagined. Certainly not "budget" at all. I also was not impressed with the worker's installation, as I had to go back and point out a few things that needed to be fixed - scratches, holes drilled in wrong areas, smudges of dirt, etc. Not to mention a cracked window. While what was installed are fine, I was able to install on my own the three missed windows and they came out nicer and better."

It depends on the light. If you have a privacy film installed, someone outside of your home would not be able to see inside during the day. During the evening, however, if you have lights on inside of your home, those outside will be able to see inside as the light is greater outside than inside.

Tinting your windows can provide many benefits, like added security, privacy, safety, and protection from UV rays. However, not all window tinting serves all of those purposes, so before you commit to a type, make sure you understand the benefits it offers. 

For example, security windows don't typically offer much in the way of UV protection, but they're ideal for protecting your home from intruders. Meanwhile, ceramic window tints won't prevent glass from breaking like security windows, but they provide ample protection from UV rays in addition to heat absorption capabilities. 

Solar screens reduce glare and block UV rays, which may slightly dim natural light and alter the view from inside. However, most homeowners find the trade-off worthwhile for improved comfort and energy savings. The impact depends on the screen’s color and density, with darker screens blocking more light but providing enhanced glare reduction and privacy.

You can easily and cheaply use tin foil or cardboard to black out your windows. Save a pretty penny by cutting either material to the size of your windows and taping it to the window. This is one of the easiest and most budget-friendly blackout solutions, but it definitely isn’t the most aesthetically friendly.  

If you have bubble wrap lying around the house and you don’t care about the odd look, taping bubble wrap over a window is a very affordable way to insulate it. Another inexpensive option for insulating windows is to add new caulk around the glass. This step quickly cuts down on air drafts for older windows, and a tube of caulk only costs a few dollars. Adding plastic shrink film around the glass is another cost-effective option. You can purchase a kit of plastic film for a few dollars per window.
