"I cannot say enough good things about All Points Carpet Care. The owner was very responsive, and called before the consultation and appointment just to verify that the times were correct and that they were on the way. The quote was very affordable, and he estimated the time needed for the job almost exactly, and was able to schedule me right away. The carpets in my entire house were stretched where needed and cleaned thoroughly. He made my carpets look like new and I would absolutely hire him again. By far one of the most professional people I have used in my history of owning a home and I'm thrilled with the results."

"It was AMAZING! I rarely write reviews but this one truly warrants it. Tim McLaughlin, the Sales Manager, was incredibly helpful when we visited the showroom. He listened to what we didn't like about our current carpet and directed us to the perfect carpet for us. He gave us samples to bring home to make final color selection. Tim sent THE BEST crew to do our install. My husband and I were very nervous, given our prior experience with another company. But Miguel and his team showed up ahead of schedule and were extremely professional. The best word I can think of to describe them is "artists". They did an outstanding job and far exceeded our expectations. We were so grateful for the overall experience dealing with Tim, Miguel and his crew. I am recommending them to friends, family, and co-workers. If you are in the market for flooring, you should absolutely check them out. You won't be sorry."

"Pretty good considering that the upstairs of our house has endured a cat and a dog for ~10 years. They got just about all of the stains out we had and carpet looked very nice. They also were really good about not damaging any of our furniture or fixtures upstairs. They got out all of the pet stains and they did the job very fast in a few hours. The only stain that they could not totally remove is a magic marker stain from where my daughter tried to trace her foot on a piece of paper over the carpet. This stain did not fully come out though it did fade a great bit. I'm probably being too picky given the extent of this stain and the amount of it. I was just overly optimistic they would get it out. My wife thinks that it will fade even more. My wife thinks they did an excellent job with the stain, so I'm giving them an A. But I did label B for quality and price, due to this stain not coming out. I would hire them again."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

There are many types of carpet repairs that you might experience in your home, depending on the activity level in your home. Snags and tears are relatively common, especially if you have pets or tend to move furniture around often. Some other carpet repairs you might need include:

  • Burn damage

  • Water damage

  • Pet damage

  • Loose carpet

  • Severe stains

Deciding whether to clean or replace your carpet depends on its condition and age. If cleaning no longer resolves issues, it's time to consider a replacement. Key signs that you need to replace your carpet include:

  • Stains that are impossible to remove.

  • A persistent smell that lingers even after cleaning.

  • An increase in allergy symptoms.

  • The age of the carpet. Most manufacturers state that carpets should last about 10 years with proper care.

When cleaning is no longer effective, you should replace the carpet with a new one or consider other flooring options like vinyl or laminate.

Most people realize it is time to replace the padding when the carpet loses springiness or feels thin and unsupportive. Other telltale signs are lumps or dips in the carpet that could look unattractive or cause tripping hazards. Similarly, if your carpet is making a crinkly sound or starting to wear out prematurely, you might need to replace your padding.

Generally speaking, restretch your carpets once every five years, though this timeframe depends on a number of factors, such as the level of foot traffic in the area. If the carpet looks wrinkled and there are loosened areas on the floor, go for the restretch. If everything looks and feels fine, you are good.

Use baking soda and vinegar or shaving cream to fix your carpet stains. But if you prefer a quicker solution, rent a carpet shampooer and use an enzyme-based cleaner to treat and resolve your discolored carpet issue.
