"Everything went well. Chris was a bit late, no fault of his, but he informed me of his delay and expected arrival time. He was personable and did a great job on our home. We would definitely use his services again."

"These guys did an excellent job. They were quick and professional. The siding on my house looked like new, free of mold and dirt, and did not have any streaks from the pressure washer. My driveway and deck also looked amazing. My driveway looked like it had been poured the week before. Everything about their work was amazing. I was very pleased with their work and will definitely use their services again. I have recommended them to numerous people."

"Although they had to unexpectedly reschedule our agreed upon service date, the company compensated me for this with a 10 percent discount (which I greatly appreciated). They were on time and completed the job thoroughly."

"I've been struggling to come up with the words to describe how impressed we were with Outdoor Artisan. As other reviewers have mentioned, their service and dedication is beyond compare. Clive came highly recommended and after meeting with him the first time we knew right away that he was the person for the job. The design he brought to us simply blew us away. He is a true artist with an incredible talent that's hard to explain until you experience it. Every detail is thought out: the planting of a tree in relation to the sun, the position of a boulder... What we found to be just as impressive is that everyone with Outdoor Artisan shares that same dedication and passion. Jason, our project manager, was outstanding! Always available, quick to answer any questions we had and offering his own suggestions along the way. The entire Outdoor Artisan team, from the office to the stone cutters, were such a pleasure to work with and gave us a space that is not only beautiful but functional as well. We plan to enjoy it for years to come. We could not give a company a higher recommendation than Outdoor Artisan!"

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

The best way to sand a deck is by cleaning it, sanding the boards and stairs with 60- or 80-grit sandpaper, and sanding the railings and posts with 80-grit sandpaper. You should sand in the direction of the wood grain to avoid damaging the timber. When sanding your deck, use medium pressure and aim for an even sand. Pressing too hard with a sander can damage decks, as most are softwoods.

If you’re DIYing the project, it could take up to a week if you aren’t able to dedicate full-time hours. If you hire a professional and they arrive with a team, expect your stairs to be sanded in as little as 2 hours (for simple projects). Finishing the stairs takes a while longer as there are drying and sealing times to consider, but the actual work will take much less time than the sanding portion.

Most projects take 1-3 days, depending on the surface area and complexity.

Soda-blasting systems are slightly more expensive than sandblasting systems. To soda blast, you’ll need to spend a few hundred dollars for a blast hose and nozzle, a compressed air supply, a blast generator, a moisture decontamination system, and sodium bicarbonate media, a recurring cost because the powder is not reusable. To start with sandblasting, you will need to spend upwards of $30 for a blast pot, a blast gun, an air compressor, and sandblasting media, many of which are recyclable—further reducing the cost. The total cost for either will depend on the size of the system.

Seal joints, clean debris regularly, and address cracks promptly to maintain appearance and stability.
