Customers say: True professional

"I had some damage to roof and needed tarps placed to prevent rain from coming in my home. He called me back in a timely manner and was courteous. Once he completed the inspection, he explained in detail what he would need to do for the job. He installed the tarps and no water was visible coming into the home. Very professional"

"I hired ShoreFix to replace a gate closure across my driveway. The gate is only a year old, and not many contractors want to deal with someone else's work without starting from scratch. By the time Dustin arrived I thought I was well-versed in my needs and prepared for the unnecessary upsell. The concept of what I needed done was on point. However, the practical work had a few details missing. I didn't have pins that fit into the driveway and I didn't have a handle to open and close the gate. He didn't try the unnecessary upheld and was willing to do exactly the work I needed. I appreciate ShoreFix for taking on the small job when no one else would. I'm also appreciative that Dustin did great work at a fair price. Now, as I consider more fence work, I know who to call."

"They do amazing work! They do our full house deep cleaning and preparation for an annual summer rentals. They are always great with our change over Cleaning between rentals. We have actually had compliments on how clean the home is. Christine will always give me ideas on how to improve the home and help me with getting this ideas carried through whether she does them herself or I help with them. Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

While your municipality may have its own regulations requiring pergolas or other structures to be a certain height above a fire pit, the standard recommendation is that the pergola should be at least 10 feet above the fire pit. A taller pergola allows the heat from the flames to dissipate before reaching the structure.

After a house fire, you should not reenter your home unless the fire crew has told you it’s safe to do so. In the longer term, you should not attempt to make repairs to the house on your own. Professional crews are trained to clean up after a fire (including smoke and soot damage), dry out any water damage from the firefighter crews, and make the necessary structural, plumbing, and electrical repairs—and this is all likely covered by insurance.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) says you can place smoke detectors on either the ceiling or the wall, depending on the setup of your room. Since smoke rises, the ceiling makes sense, but if you go with a wall mounting, the alarm should be installed high up—no less than 12 inches from the ceiling.

No, it is not safe to use an outlet that sparked. A spark from an outlet could indicate a short circuit, loose or frayed wiring, or other serious damage. Continuing to use an outlet that sparks can increase the risk of electrical shock, electrical fires, and other hazards. It's important to turn off the power to the outlet at the circuit breaker if possible and avoid using the outlet until a licensed electrician has inspected and repaired it.

Attics often contain a mix of insulation, electrical wiring, and other materials that can pose fire risks. That’s why furnaces should be installed in the attic with proper insulation and clearance from combustible materials. Additionally, the furnace should be equipped with proper ventilation and heat shields to prevent the buildup of excessive heat in the attic space. Regular inspections and maintenance are also crucial to identify and address any potential fire hazards.
