"Warren did a wonderful job removing an old tub and replacing it with a walk in shower for my elderly mother. He took his time to explain everything to us nd made sure we had exactly what we needed. He did not try to sell us anything that we did need (like other companies). He was in and out in one day. He made sure I knew exactly what was done and how to use the new shower. I will be recommending him to everyone I know. I wish I lived in the area so that he could replace my tub. I appreciate that he was able to get the new shower in within a week of contacting him especially since it was a Christmas gift."

"Gerardo with G & E Plumbing LLC did an outstanding job on our shower replacement. From start to finish, he was professional, reliable, and paid close attention to every detail. The quality of the work exceeded our expectations, and the finished shower looks amazing. He showed up on time, communicated clearly throughout the process, and made sure everything was done right. It?s hard to find someone who takes this much pride in their work these days. I highly recommend Gerardo and G & E Plumbing LLC to anyone looking for honest, skilled, and dependable plumbing work. "Steve Way did a great job for us. He replaced walls, flooring, plumbing, light fixtures, a tub and a walk-in shower. We were dealing with the worst possible Insurance Adjuster and Steve was in our corner the whole time. He worked very hard to get us back into our home as fast as possible. He and his crew were very profitable professional, reliable and kind. We will definitely use him again."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

When buying caulk, look for ones labeled for tub and tile. These have either acrylic latex or silicone compounds. This allows the caulk to stick to smooth surfaces and prevent mildew from forming.

If you are in the market for a new showerhead, consider investing in a metal option rather than plastic. Metal showerheads are more durable and long-lasting, and bacteria tend to survive and grow better on plastic. Besides the materials, what works best for you will depend on personal preference. Maybe you would prefer a showerhead with as many settings as possible, or you would like a handheld one.

Draining is the process of removing sediment buildup that has accumulated at the bottom of your hot water heater’s tank. Flushing is a more elaborate process that involves running fresh water through the tank to clean the inside thoroughly. You should at least drain your hot water heater once per year and flush it every other year—better yet, alternate between draining and flushing every six months.

Depending on the location of the water leak, it could go undetected for weeks, months, or even years in some extreme cases. Most homeowners who have plumbing leaks have slow drips, so you might not see signs of damage until they become severe problems. It’s a good idea to have a plumbing inspection done annually and to take steps yourself to check for leaks, including inspecting your floor, walls, and ceilings for signs of water damage, monitoring your utility bills, and looking for water around appliances and fixtures.

If you want to avoid using a snake to unclog a drain, or if you don’t have one, try vinegar and baking soda. Pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by 1 cup of white vinegar. Wait for 15 minutes, and then run hot water (but not boiling water) down the drain to see if the clog is clear. Repeat multiple times as needed.
