"She came out to do the work and was very professional. However, during the job she got some of the dry wall plaster into the carpet, and when I pointed it out she did not seem to know how to clean it up properly. I ended up cleaning the plaster out of the carpet. Still for the price she did good work. and I would recommend her for others."

"Construction of a non-load bearing wall and front steps. Been trying to find someone for this project for years and was always turned down because it was such a small job. Not to these guys! Crew showed up on time and ready to work. Omar definitely knows his trade. Rest of the crew were outstanding. Minor requested modifications (add foundation vents) were made without issue. Great job and a great experience for this customer. Will definitely use Affordable Masonry for future projects. Highly recommended!"

"Connect dryer vent through a tile floor and install a aluminum post in bath that needed support in ceiling and drilled through tile wall. Joe did an excellent job that other contractors did not want to tackle. 5 stars to Joe"

"I would highly recommend Legacy Drywall. Brian and his wife were both very professional. Legacy drywall did a great job for a reasonable price. I also liked the way this company handled the estimate. They provided me with a in depth estimate including materials and labor. They also let you know exactly what days they will arrive and give a precise timeline in which each job will be started and finished. My husband was happy and I’m so grateful to have these repairs checked off my to do list. Thank you Legacy Drywall"

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

The lifespan of a retaining wall varies based on its material, installation quality, maintenance, and local climate, with an average range of 20 to 100 years. Retaining walls made from durable materials like concrete, stone, and brick generally last a minimum of 50 years. Concrete walls typically last between 50 and 100 years, while brick can last for over a century in ideal conditions. Timber retaining walls can last from 20 to 40 years, depending on the wood quality, and pressure-treated wood walls average around 30 years. It is important to note that a retaining wall can fail prematurely if it was poorly constructed, for example, with inefficient footings or without necessary rebar reinforcements.

Depending on who you hire to build a retaining wall, the average cost, including demolition and reconstruction, for a 50-foot wall that's 4 feet in height is between $7,000 and $24,000.

They prevent soil erosion, add flat space, and enhance property aesthetics.

Regular inspection for issues like cracks or leaning and ensuring drainage stays clear.

Most railroad tie retaining walls have a life span of 20 to 30 years, though you may need to replace your wall sooner if it’s repeatedly exposed to heavy rain, runoff, and excess moisture. Railroad ties are typically treated with creosote, which makes them much more durable than untreated wood. Though they last longer, they don’t last forever. For the most longevity, make sure your retaining wall has a sturdy base and steel reinforcements. You should also install drainage to direct water away from the wall.
