"I hired Carteret Lawn Care LLC not only because I needed my lawn mowed, but also because my yard required a major clean-up ( Bushes trimmed, overgrown areas that needed to be done, weeds removed and hauled off, etc ) and I'm here to say they most certainly did not disappoint!! I am just over the moon about the difference in my yard and just how beautiful it now looks!! They were scheduled to be here at 9:30am, and they were right on time. Remind you, this was one of the days when we were in the midst of a major heat wave, and the two gentlemen who did the work never stopped from the time they got here until the time they were done! Their work was not only done right, it was impeccable and for that reason, I have now hired this company for my permanent Lawn care. Thank you Careteret Lawn Care LLC for doing an outstanding job!!"

Small jobs welcome

"Todd and Wade did a great job fixing an irrigation system that had been slightly neglected for a number of years. They were prompt, efficient and a pleasure to work with. The cost for the repairs also seemed to be fairly reasonable. I would definitely recommend them for any irrigation needs."

"I think they treated the wrong lawn. The note they sent me via text message referenced trees and shrubs in my yard, I have none. They also did not leave a yard marker showing they had been there. Otherwise, this would have been a 5 star review."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Ultimately, pulling weeds vs. spraying them depends on what’s happening in your yard and your personal preferences. Manual weed removal doesn’t introduce any chemicals into your landscape, targets specific problematic plants, produces immediate results, can be free if you go the DIY route, and is inexpensive with a weed service if you only have a handful of weeds. On the other hand, spraying is often preferable for severe weed infestations and situations involving difficult-to-pull weeds because it treats multiple weeds at once, is usually more effective long-term, is less time-consuming, and costs less when done by a pro.

Dormant seasons like fall and winter are the best times to dig up plants, including holly bushes. Plants aren’t growing during these seasons, so the removal process goes a lot quicker. Consider hiring a landscaping team to handle holly bush removal during the cold-weather months for off-season pricing deals, too.

While a rented dumpster can handle a wide variety of materials, there are significant restrictions on what is allowed. Generally, you can dispose of most non-hazardous household junk, yard waste, and construction debris.

Accepted items typically include:

  • Furniture, carpets, old linens, and toys

  • Wood and yard debris

  • Small appliances and excess trash

  • Renovation waste like old finishes, building debris, and roofing materials (unless they contain lead paint or asbestos)

However, you cannot put toxic, flammable, or hazardous materials in a dumpster. Prohibited items almost always include:

  • Paint, gasoline, oil, and other fuels

  • Household cleaners and other chemicals

  • Electronics, batteries, and tires

  • Refrigerators, hot water tanks, and medical waste

Since regulations can vary by location and company, it is essential to check with your dumpster rental provider for their specific list of accepted and prohibited items before you begin.

Small amounts of geese are actually good for the environment. They help spread seeds and lead to more plant growth, but they’re often an invasive species, particularly Canadian geese. This means a small gaggle can quickly grow into a level that litters your lawn with bald patches and excrement.

Your dog’s diet plays a major role in the amount of nitrogen in the dog’s urine. A high-protein diet leads to higher nitrogen levels because digesting proteins break down the protein and form nitrogen as a result.

You should also ensure that your dog is drinking plenty of water. Staying hydrated naturally helps dilute nitrogen concentrations in urine—not to mention, it’s better for your dog’s health.
