"They came all the way out to Lake Lure. The job was more challenging than they expected as our old deck was made with odd materials- but they found a way and got it done. Would use them again."

"Gerry and his crew built us a screened in covered porch/deck. It was a great choice. The crew worked hard and and finished the work in a couple of weeks. The deck is a huge improvement over what we had before, and exactly what we were looking for. The construction is solid and well built. Working with Gerry is easy, and very straightforward, I absolutely recommend DDK!"

"It went pretty well. I needed to get the HOA’s approval and that went very smoothly. I attribute that to a well written proposal. Chris and Ken did a good job assessing the needs of my disabled son and provided safe railings outside the home as well as grab bars in the bathrooms."

"Lingle Construction reconstructed our deck and front porch floor. They were efficient, on time, and all work on site! We are extremely pleased the outcome. Colton is committed to quality work and very accurate in building material needs and amounts. We couldnâ t be happier with our remodeled deck and front porch floor!"

"The Project included a small open porch with a gabled shingle roof which led through french doors into the 8 windowed sunroom with a ceramic tile floor, 2 ceiling fans, 6 recessed lights, and 2 suntunnels. Bay windows & a french door were taken out to provide a large open entry into the diningroom and kitchen creating an open concept look. The finished room blends so perfectly with the architecture of the house both inside and out that it looks like it was always there. The project took six weeks as promised and is above and beyond our expectations! The “Ragan team” not only is dedicated to quality materials and workmanship, but also maintaining a positive and unruffled attirude when encountering “bumps along the road” which inevitably happen in a project this size. Paul Ragan's vast experience and ingenuity were obvious throughout the project. We higly recommend Ragan Construction Company!"

"The painters did an excellent job, plus were polite, thoughtful and professional. They gave a few days notice when they would be coming. We were impressed with how carefully they prepared the surfaces for painting. They checked in frequently to see how we thought things were going. They were friendly and delightful to have around. It is hard to imagine a more positive experience than the one we had!"

Gazebos questions, answered by experts

Clean regularly, seal wood surfaces, and inspect for damage or rust to ensure longevity and safety.

Several types of porches are available to meet your needs and style preferences. Some common porch types include:

  • Porticos are essentially a roof over a walkway leading to the home's front entrance.

  • Sunrooms are closed-in porches that are an extension of the house with glass or plastic panels that allow optimal sunlight.

  • Wraparound porches extend around the entire home, or at least the front and one side, and offer multiple entrances to the house.

  • Back porches are an extension of the home’s floor into the outdoors. These offer more protection and privacy than a deck.

The average cost to build or install a gazebo is around $5,700, with prices typically ranging from $3,000 to $10,000. The final cost depends on several factors, including the gazebo's size, shape, material, and design complexity. For example, square gazebos and those made from metal can be more expensive, while brick is a more affordable material. Adding custom features like built-in seating or lighting will also increase the price. You can potentially save money by purchasing a prefabricated kit or performing some of the labor yourself.

Professionals ensure safe, thorough repairs using quality materials, extending the life of your structure.

Using concrete footers is the best way to secure a gazebo on a deck without drilling. The weight of the footers is more likely to hold your gazebo in place than other methods. You can also pour concrete into flower pots to create an aesthetically pleasing concrete footer or use concrete columns to make a statement.
