"At first I gave them a bad review because of the person they sent to do the work. After talking to the owner and his team I understood a little more of what went into this project. It was not a simple project to begin with and I was a little frustrated that it was taking so long. After sending other people to finish the project my bathroom is coming along nicely. They are even fixing the mistakes the first person made. Over all the team is very nice and easy to work with. Being a recently widowed woman Tim met me at Floor & Decor to help me with the items I needed to buy. He let me pick what I wanted but was there for guidance. He personally brought over a niche to put in my shower and sent picture of shower faucets I might like."

"Stop looking. Start doing! I cannot say enough good things about David and his crew. We used Green-Finn for an extensive renovation of a 1950's family home. There was plenty of work from the roof to the foundation and all areas in between. The renovation has exceeded our expectations and we are loving our new home. They were very easy to work with, listened to our needs, and helped to guide us with any concerns we had. David and his crew are also respectful of your time and budget. The crew always showed up when they were supposed to and there was no upselling or pressure to add "allowance" items. David and Chris were completely transparent with the finances. We chose to upgrade a few items and we were charged fairly. A few items came in under budget, and we were credited appropriately. Again...we could not be more pleased with the ease of the process from start to finish and the results achieved now that we are enjoying our home. Great guys and a great crew. You will be in good hands!"

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

On average, the cost to hire an interior designer or decorator is approximately $8,200. However, the total price can range widely from $200 for a simple consultation to $65,000 for a comprehensive whole-home design project. Most residential designers charge an hourly rate, typically between $50 and $200 per hour, though this can increase to $500 per hour in high-demand areas.

Several factors influence the final cost, including the size of your home, your location, the quality of decor, and the scope of services required. The price will be higher if services include not just consultation but also implementation, material purchasing, home staging, or digital design mock-ups. It's important to note that these cost estimates generally cover the designer's service fees and do not include the price of materials, furniture, or decor, which can be a significant additional expense.

You can hire a few different experts to redesign a kitchen. The best option depends on your goals, budget, and timeline. For small updates, we recommend hiring a contractor who specializes in kitchen renovation. For extensive updates, a general contractor might be your best bet since they’ll have experience with all aspects of the remodel. If you’re looking for more ideas in the planning stage, you can hire an interior designer or a kitchen remodeling company. Both options will help you thoroughly envision your new kitchen before the remodel begins.

Some architects include interior design in their portfolio of offerings, while some architectural firms employ interior designers to handle that aspect of home building projects or refer clients to interior designers they’ve worked with in the past. Ask a local architect whether they offer interior design services as well.

Designing a building takes 2-6 months, depending on project size, required permits, and revisions.

The main difference between a home stager and an interior designer is that the former creates temporary, generally appealing spaces, while the latter creates personalized design choices for your permanent home. A home stager seeks to depersonalize your home while also showing off the best features of the home to potential buyers. An interior designer works with you to infuse your personal style into the decor in your home. You’ll typically only hire a local home stager when selling your home.
