I am the owner of a small company that enjoys to work with the homeowner, I offer quality job, I pay great attention to detail and I go the extra mile to make my customers happy. We do exterior and interior painting, deck restoration, wallpaper removal and small repairs (light carpentry) if needed. After the first contact we will schedule an appointment and I will provide you with a free and very detailed estimate with all the steps that will take to do the preparation, the surfaces that will be painted and the paint that will be used. If you decided to hire me we will sign a contract and after that I won't disappear, you will see me everyday at the job site. I don't use sub-contractors. My customers won't only have a great workmanship but also a clean site after a work day. I work with and recommend the Benjamin Moore brand unless the customer requests a different one.

"Gerardo provided a prompt, detailed estimate and followed up to see if I had questions. He was very accessible and responsive. Once we agreed on the price, work began two days earlier than the scheduled start date. He was on site every day with his crew. They worked tirelessly to complete the project on time and in a quality fashion. Their work exceeded my expectations by far. While on site, they were pleasant, friendly, focused and professional. Each day work began on time at 8am and they worked hard until the scheduled stop time of 430 leaving the areas neat and clean at day's end. Gerardo is a truly conscientious business owner and a pleasure to work with. They went way above and well beyond normal expectations to help me make the beach house we purchased into a place that now looks like "our family." I'm quite grateful."

"Very upset. Paid a small fortune for it not to be done correctly. Was told they would return in 6 weeks to reshim. They didn't show and I had to call and schedule an appointment for much later. The appointment was rescheduled by them for a day I was out of town without telling me! Was told when they finally came out that it was not done correctly and they would be back in six weeks to do some more work. No show again. Now waiting for them to call back to reschedule! This has been going on for 8 months. Floor is still sagging. Cracks in walls and ceiling from not having level floors. Ridiculous. I DO NOT recommend them at all!!! (the guys that worked on the house are nice, though)"

They must post their own positive reviews. They took my $65.00 fee and did nothing"

"The work was excellent, however after the installation I discovered that I had been given very cheap product for the price I was ask to pay. I had solid and steady glass doors on the shower doors they remove. They replaced them with very cheap glass that bent like Plexiglass, I've never seen glass bend and also hung like curtains from the top only, no support on the bottom. When I told them I found the doors to be unacceptable for a senior I was told they would remove them, seal the holes and I could hang showers curtain but still pay for the shower doors they will remove. I was expecting an upgrade, instead I was given hanging glass doors for an outrageous amount. The shower makeover I ordered the salesman called it my dream shower, instead it has become a nightmare for me, I have not used this shower as I'm very afraid of using it as I may accidentally bump against the door and fall through it."

Porch Conversion takes pride in the professional and courteous service that it provides customers. We not only use the highest quality products, but have top notch experience as well. We offer more sunroom designs, options, & sizes than anyone else!

"Our experience with Porch Conversion fell far short of our expectations, both in product and customer service. Product-wise, we were not told, during the sales pitch, that the EZ breeze poly-vinyl would not provide a clear view; I knew vinyl would not be as crystal clear as glass, but the disparity is much more substantial than we could have imagined. I would describe it as a wavy distortion. This is the case with the panels with screens behind them and those without screens (upper transom). Secondly, the sliding panels, which are advertised on their website as ‘fingertip easy’ to slide, have not been our experience in the least. A lot of exertion needs to be applied to get the panels to the juncture to lock them up. That over exertion will not bode well for the product’s longevity and our aging muscles. If we were told that both situations were ‘the norm’, we would never have purchased the large panels. We would have considered going with the smaller vertically sliding panels or with glass. The customer service complaint is twofold - 1) the lack of transparency about the vinyl in the sales phase. At that time, I had emphasized to the saleswoman that the clearest view was our top priority. 2) The warranty gentleman was quick in getting back to us when I first reached out about our concern. After his visit, he said that there was no issue with the vinyl, and that he “could not go to bat for us” with the manufacturer. Subsequently, it took days to hear back from him about the sliding panel issue. Finally, we were told once again, that’s the norm with the larger panels; he also did not offer to send a technician out to see if there was any adjustment that could be made to make the panels slide as advertised. That did not seem like an unrealistic ask after doling out a nice chunk of cash for the system. The sad irony, about Porch Conversion’s warranty service, is that this was the deciding factor for us to choose them over another company, who had received frequent bad reviews about their ineffective warranty service. In the pic, you can see the distorted view through the vinyl panels on the left vs. the much clearer view through the screen on the right."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

If you don’t put padding under your carpet, the carpet won’t be protected from wear on the underside. This could result in a shorter life span for your carpet and increased carpet repair costs over time. An unpadded carpet can also be less comfortable to walk on, depending on your subfloor and the type of carpet.

Your floor sees a lot of action: foot traffic bringing in dirt from outside, pets with muddy paws, kids dropping food crumbs, and more. All of this makes your floors dirty, and if you don’t keep up with cleaning them, staying on top of the dirt will become more challenging.

Avoid steam cleaning unsealed hardwood, vinyl, and laminate floors unless the manufacturer explicitly states that a steam mop can be used.

Carpet tiles are less expensive than traditional carpet. The average cost of carpet installation is $1,800, or $3 to $11 per square foot. In comparison, carpet tiles cost $2.50 to $11 apiece and can often be bought in bulk cartons. Since you can more easily DIY carpet tiles, you may be able to save on installation costs, too.

You can use underfloor heating with most kinds of flooring. However, particularly thick carpet will create problems, since it will absorb a lot of the heat and make it difficult to feel. Also, there are some concerns that underfloor heating can dry out natural wood over time, so if you have wood flooring, get an expert opinion on whether radiant heating is appropriate.
