"Installers did a good job but I had to get them back to do a repair after they had completed the job .One concern i had was with one of the installers would drop his hammer on my new floor. One thing i really liked was they would bring big samples for you to make your selection from. I am 99% satisfied so I would recommend them."

Customers say: True professional

"My contractor was Deep Rooted Flooring and our contact was Christian. We were contacted by him and discussed replacing a floor around the commode in the bathroom. I asked him to view the project and give us an estimate. He was very quick with his estimate and made us aware of work that needed to be done in the adjacent room because of the deteriorated floor. He didn’t Pressure us or anything about the extra work, he just made us aware of the condition with a description and pictures. It was our decision to go ahead with The additional work. The estimate came in at a reasonable price. He was at the job site at the time he said and completed the job quickly. He was knowledgeable About flooring and the type that should be used. He was cordial and answered all of our questions. We were very satisfied with the job as completed, in fact They did a couple of additional items we did not expect. I would recommend him for any flooring work and give him your highest rating. Tommy Combs"

"Excellent all around! This is my 2nd project with John Munn and am just as pleased as the first! They did a great job taking an unfinished multi-family and turning it into a lovely home. In fact, the improvements made such a good impression that the neighbors are going to rent it in January! John and his team remodeled two full bathrooms, updated two kitchen floors, strategically relocated an HVAC register to create a hallway access door to a bedroom, painted the interior and exterior of the home, remodeled two laundry rooms, installed several electrical outlets, and helped assist me with solid recommendations along the way. Simply put, couldnâ t be happier with the value of Johnâ s crew, his vision, and his overall expertise to help me get through this project! Joe"

"This is the second job we have hired Kerry for. This one-outside- took much longer than anyone expected. Weather was a mess in December and January! That said I am so pleased with the work. Our home looks beautiful and the work is impeccable. I can’t say enough good about the company and the work done. Thank you so much for making this house my home!!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

When you install laminate flooring, you have to install spacers (also called expansion gaps) along the edges. This space along the edges gives the flooring the room it needs to naturally expand and contract. When you don't have an expansion gap, you can end up with damaged or warped planks. This can lead to uneven flooring, which is unsightly and can cause a trip hazard.

The fastest way to remove carpet is to remove carpet in strips instead of trying to remove it in one large piece. Wear protective equipment such as gloves and goggles, use a utility knife to cut the carpet in long strips, and then pull at the edge of the strip to loosen the staples or glue. Carpet-cutting razor blades are best on your utility knife for the quickest removal.

Porcelain and ceramic tile are two of the longest-lasting kitchen flooring materials. However, while these materials can withstand a good amount of daily wear and tear, they’re likely to crack if you drop something heavy on them, and they’re pricier than many other options. On average, installing a ceramic tile kitchen floor costs between $1,240 and $11,250. Other durable kitchen flooring options include natural stone and concrete.

As with anything you buy, be wary of prices that seem too good to be true. Some low-cost flooring products can contain chemicals that release harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds) in the form of fumes that can be inhaled or dust that can cause skin conditions.

Even good-quality products can be dangerous for DIY-ers who don’t take proper precautions. Always carefully read manufacturer instructions and wear the recommended protective gear when working with paints and other chemicals. You can also hire a local garage flooring pro with the experience and equipment needed to perform the installation safely with no lingering fumes or debris.

No, when done correctly, removing the tile shouldn’t damage the subfloor. However, if there was pre-existing damage to the subfloor from standard use or lack of maintenance, the subfloor may need repairs. For example, if the contractors notice mold growth on the subfloor or an uneven surface, you may need more extensive services before installing new tile.

If you DIY tile removal, remove the tiles one step at a time, individually removing the tile, grout, and mortar to prevent unnecessarily damaging the subfloor. Depending on the age of your home, consider having a professional inspect the subfloor to ensure it’s in good enough condition to lay new tile.
