Customers say: Quality work

"Bobby responded promptly to my initial email and was easily reachable despite being a busy business owner. He explained the materials and process and was personally on site every day of the project. We had 400 square feet of patio to put in. He and his small team were finished, with all their equipment policed up, in less than 4 days; that included a short rain delay."

"Koons Crawl Space Solutions did an excellent job with the work they did on our house. They truly went above and beyond helping us with the many problems we had due to the lack of care from our previous homeowner. Additionally, they went above and beyond pointing out some other problems we needed fixed which posed a serious issue to our house and we otherwise wouldnâ t have known about, which saved us a lot of money down the line. Not only does our home feel more insulated, but they also did a beautiful job crafting a custom door for our crawl space to replace the previous one that was falling apart. It looks better and feels better, and we are grateful for their help. I highly recommend their services. They are polite, fair, and really went above and beyond in everything that they did for us!"

"Mr. David and his crew did a superb job with my driveway addition. I asked him for his advice about a sidewalk for a wheelchair from the back yard to the new driveway. Mr. David gave excellent advice on what I could do. I am really loving what was done."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Cutting stone comes with a number of safety hazards. First and foremost, if you’re not comfortable with the equipment required to cut stone, including blades and grinders, you could easily injure yourself. The heavy machinery also poses a risk to your ears if you don’t wear proper ear protection; similarly, you need to wear eye protection to keep debris from irritating your eyes.

However, the biggest risk from cutting stone comes from the stone dust. When breathed in, stone dust can be a huge hazard to your lungs. Always wear a face mask when cutting stone to prevent inhaling stone dust, and thoroughly clean the work area when you are finished.

To avoid injury, we recommend hiring a stone-cutting professional, rather than attempting this job yourself.

To stain brick, you should use a product specifically formulated for brick, concrete, or other masonry surfaces. These stains are designed to penetrate the porous surface of the brick and bond with it. This is different from paint, which sits on the surface and is prone to peeling, flaking, and trapping moisture that can cause damage. Water-based brick stains are often recommended because they are easy to apply, even for DIYers, and they allow the brick to breathe. Avoid using regular paint on brick, as it will not adhere properly and can lead to future maintenance problems.

Yes! Hot glue is an excellent—and temporary—way to spread holiday cheer with Christmas lights without damaging your brick exterior.

Not all cracks in brick indicate foundation problems. For instance, small hairline cracks can occur as a new construction settles. However, larger cracks are often a sign of a more severe issue. Indicators of a potential foundation problem include long horizontal cracks, "stair-step" cracks, vertical cracks that appear indoors, or any crack that widens at the top. Other signs of structural damage to look for are uneven floors and doors or windows that stick. These issues could be caused by problems with the soil beneath the home or an overgrown tree.

Two types of masonry are veneer masonry and solid masonry. Veneer masonry is thin brick or stone material attached to the face of a building. With veneer masonry, the walls support the weight of the masonry products rather than the masonry being built on a concrete footing. Solid masonry is a wall or other brick or stone structure built on a concrete footing, and the masonry supports itself.
