"Mud Studs responded promptly. That is more than half of a good rating. The plan was explained in terms a home owner can understand. They showed up at the agreed time every day. They cleaned up afterwards. It is now a week later, and my ceiling looks great!"

"Dan Burch and all his employees were professional, friendly, and easy to work with. I appreciated Dan's help in selecting the interior pain with me. He did a fantastic job repairing one bedroom wall and we were very pleased with the texture ceiling and paint job. I didn't quite realize how messy removing the popcorn ceilings would be. My only complaint was they should had cover the furniture more or let us know in advance that we needed to cover the furniture before they started. We appreciated Burch coming back couple days later to double check if there was anything they missed and if we were pleased. Great customer service. I would highly recommend them and would use Burch Drywall and Paint again."

"The last was a rental company that we have and we used them for an air conditioning and heating system. It was Bototach Mechanical. It’s been a good program for us. They’re very responsive. I don’t know what the thought process was. My husband said, well let’s try these guys and so we did. We have an older home and it’s proved to be a very good deal. The quality has been pretty good, so I would give them an A for the quality. I will give you one helpful hint though. If the company decides they want to replace an appliance, you need to call them and negotiate with them because you can upgrade, but you need to talk to them in person not just do it over the internet."

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

Textured ceilings add visual interest and personality to a room, breaking away from the flat, uniform look of smooth ceilings. They are also practical, as the texture helps to hide imperfections, making them ideal for older homes or spaces prone to wear and tear. Textured ceilings come in a variety of patterns, giving homeowners the flexibility to choose a style that complements their design preferences, whether they want something subtle or more intricate. Additionally, certain textures can help with sound absorption, making rooms quieter and more comfortable.

Small repairs or applications can be DIY projects, but removing older textures, especially with safety risks, is usually left to professionals.

As stylish new design options become more popular, modern drop ceiling designs also include metal tiles of tin and copper, which can create a dark, moody atmosphere in your basement bar, home theater, or game room. There are also a variety of modern lighting ideas for drop ceilings, including recessed and surface mount lights.

When steaming falls short, consider utilizing a commercial texture remover tailored for popcorn ceiling removal. Adhere closely to the manufacturer's guidelines and conduct a preliminary test in an inconspicuous spot to verify compatibility with your ceiling. This specialized product offers an alternative solution for stubborn texture removal, potentially streamlining the process while safeguarding the integrity of your ceiling surface. Remember, products like these may be high-VOC, so wear protective gear.

It depends on the type of texture you’re adding but yes, you can often use a roller to texturize a ceiling. The roller needs to be able to hold enough medium to create some relief on the ceiling but not so much that gravity will pull it off before it dries. Using a roller with a nap between ½” and ¾” will allow the roller to hold enough material to do the trick.
