"We like their service. We haven't had any problems. They are very good. This was the first time we've had an alarm/security system in our home. The supplier is ADT. I like that I can set my alarm every night before I go to bed."

"First the good:
The up front cost cant be beat since all of the sensors and control panel were no cost to cover 20 doors and windows. Installation was pretty straight forward and the phone reps were fairly knowledgeable and professional. I added a couple features like an extra key pad, siren and glass break sensors that cost aprox $350. The extras were a little pricey but compared to the $2000 another provided quoted, it was still a deal.
The control panel is cellular based so cutting your phone lines will not effect the alarm.
Now the not so good:
The quality of the sensors has not been very good. I have had 2 DOA when the packages arrived new and 2 failed within several days. When I contacted Protect America they were very nice about sending me new ones, but it took weeks and a couple calls before I saw the first replacements. The second set of replacements that arrived for the failed units ended up being the wrong sensors. Their shipping department does not seem to have good quality control. The next very annoying element is the wait time on the phone when you are trying to get anything set up. I spent a couple hours on hold working through the set up the first time and at least an hour the second time when I installed the replacement sensors.
Some cautions; make sure you hide the main control panel because if an intruder disables it before the alarm has sounded for 60 seconds, the police may not be notified. Also they only call to check if everything is ok if the alarm is not canceled for 60 seconds. So you can not be sure if the signal is getting through.
Monthly monitoring fee is high, but since the system was intially free, even after 3 years it is still the cheaper route.
Now that I have the equipment, once our contract is expired I will find a different alarm provider that responds to every alarm.

"OK first of all I never write reviews, dont have the time. However, the experience I had was amazing. I mean from when they answered the phone I felt comfortable. No high pressure, very straight forward salesperson. I called two other companies and both tried to upsell me from what they advertised. I am so happy I called Skycover! They did not try to upsell me. I purchased exactly what was advertised and saved even more money than I thought. I got a video camera for free with the system! I have a home office and now I can see what my assistant is doing from anywhere I travel in the world and I frequently travel to China for work. The system arrived to my door in a beautiful box and I will admit was concerned about setting it up, but it was plug and play just like the salesperson said. It took me less than 30 minutes in total and was super simple. I control everything from my phone. "Our American Home shield warranty took care of the dishwasher repair, garage door repair, but each time they have to come back. The company service is okay, if I know another company that had a better service than them I would be with that service. I would use them in the future only because I don't have anybody else."

"I would say that I wasn't really impressed with it. There were certain things about the service that I wasn't aware of like half the channels, you have to pay money to see those. It's a pay-per-view basically and the guy wasn't all that friendly when he came to the door. He seemed kind of put out, basically. It's like he just didn't want to be there so my first impression wasn't very good."
