We wanted to widen the driveway to make room for another vehicle and clean up the eroding hill. On the other side of the driveway we needed to have the approach widened to be able to access the third garage space with less difficulty. We also wanted to enlarge the concrete area around a shed in the back yard and enlarge the pool deck to make an area for the barbecue. We decided to have a retaining wall built to hold back to dirt on the front of the property and then add a block wall on top of the retaining wall from the corner of the house back about 16 feet. We wanted block wall returns from the house to the wall with space for a new gate. Jeff came and gave us a bid. He was friendly and professional. He was in the range of other quotes we had received for the work. We had to have an extensive footing for the retaining wall and drainage behind the wall per our engineer and Jeff complied with all the requirements. They had to excavate and haul a lot of dirt and broken concrete away. He had all the right people and equipment to do the jobs well. Jeff took care of acquiring the permits and setting up the inspections. We passed all the inspections without a hitch and were pleased when the inspector was impressed, as we were, with the quality of his work. Jeff and his crew were hard working, very skilled in their work, efficient, on time and tidy. They always cleaned up as they worked and left the work site clean at the end of the day. They were safety conscious, putting up barricades and fences where needed to protect us and the public. We are very pleased with the professionalism and quality of Jeff and his crew's work. We will definitely have him complete our block wall when the time comes. I recommend him highly. 760

Screw me twice, I'll never come back! In September of 2011, we had Peterson Glass build a screen door for our kitchen French doors. We even took the old door to their establishment to use as a template for constructing the new door. It took several weeks for them to complete the work, and when we tried to install the door, it did not fit. The door was too short and too wide. We were surprised and dismayed as we had been told by others that the company does excellent work. We took the door back, and the owner (I assume), Rick Rowles, accused us of bringing them the wrong door initially! But, he was willing to honor his work, so we supplied correct measurements to modify the door to fit and after another several weeks and numerous phone calls, we finally were able to pick up the door, and this time, it installed without a problem. A year and a half, in early June of 2013, the screen door began to stick in the track. Upon removing the door, we found that the bottom tensioning springs would not support the door correctly, and the plastic rollers were worn badly. We carried the door back to Peterson Glass to be repaired. A week later, we called them only to find that they had done nothing to repair the door. We were assured that the door would be repaired as soon as possible. Another week passed and our phone calls were met with various excuses, such as "We haven't had time to fix it." Finally, Michelle told us the door would be ready on Friday, June 21. On that Friday, we inquired about the door only to find that -- again -- it had not been repaired. My significant other became so enraged that she wrote a scathing post of our poor customer service experience on the company's Facebook page. Believe me, that got their attention and action! Unfortunately, the action was not-at-all customer friendly. Monday morning, the 24th, we received a very rude phone call from Michelle. She said that they (Peterson Glass) would not repair the door and that we could come pick it up. That afternoon, I went to the establishment and picked up the door. I inquired as to why the door was not repaired, and I was told it was because of the Facebook post. This disingenuous excuse smacked of small-minded retaliation. After all, they had the door for two full weeks! I cited to Rick -- a very distasteful man -- the old saw about customer service: A satisfied customer will tell 2-3 people about his experience, but a dissatisfied consumer will tell 8-10 people. He growled uncaringly, "Tell a hundred!" I was a very dissatisfied customer, so, as I walked out his door -- my door in hand -- I told the first of his suggested hundred people -- a woman entering the store -- that these were not nice people, and she would do better to take her business elsewhere. To which she replied: "Oh dear!" As an aside, the owner of the Peterson Glass Facebook page deleted all posts -- good and bad -- from their timeline so others would not see the post of the terribly poor customer service we received. I was able to make an appointment to bring the machine in and it was serviced that day. This is very convenient because I live 6 hours away and prefer to stay overnight in Billings and split the drive between two days. FAQs for gravel driveway repair projects in Corvallis, MT
The average cost of a gravel driveway is about $1.25 to $2 per square foot, including the cost of materials, equipment, and professional installation. For example, a 16-by-30-foot driveway costs about $1,500. Cost factors include the type of gravel, how thick the gravel is installed, the condition of the landscape, and labor costs. Overall costs will vary depending on where you live and how accessible the job site is.
Concrete can crack from general wear, improper installation, or in response to uneven support from the soil underneath. Small, thin cracks on the surface of aging concrete are usually a result of normal wear and tear, while cracks on new concrete more likely indicate a problem with installation. Larger cracks or uneven steps can signify a much more severe issue. A concrete contractor should be able to diagnose the cause and repair concrete cracks for you.
The cost to install a concrete driveway is $4 to $15per square foot on average. Your price heavily depends on your desired concrete finish and driveway size.
For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay an average cost of $1,900. For a driveway at double that size (400 square feet), the average price is closer to $3,800. Plain concrete is significantly more cost-effective, averaging $7 per square foot, whereas stained concrete averages around $19 per square foot.
The cost of resurfacing concrete is $6 per square foot on average, though that cost can range from $3 to $9per square foot.
For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay $600 to $1,800, and for a driveway that is 500 square feet, that cost averages $1,500 to $4,500. Resurfacing your driveway will give you the look and feel of a new surface without the hefty cost.
A gravel driveway should be at least 4 to 6 inches deep, depending on the soil it’s installed on. Softer soil that doesn’t drain well should have a deeper gravel driveway. Deeper gravel will mean you spend more on materials and labor, but you’ll get a more stable driveway and avoid damage that needs to be filled or graded flat again.
