"I highly recommend this company for granite repair. They promptly responded to my request and scheduled an appointment for the very next day. They arrived on time, were extremely professional, and repaired my granite countertop so flawlessly that you can’t even tell where the crack had been. The pricing was very reasonable, and the quality of the workmanship was pristine. Reliable, skilled, and highly professional from start to finish."

Customers say: Quick response

"Very fair and competitive on their prices for work done. They communicate well and effectively with me in the quoting process, on what I wanted to have done. Workmanship was extremely good, and was well pleased. They relaced old wood siding with Hardiboard above my garage, plus did extensive repairs on 4 corners to house in rodent damage of rotten soffet materials. I highly reccommend them for other potential customers, and I plan to use them again later this year on another project."

Small jobs welcome

"I Mounted my kitchen cabinets and Iâ m no professional. I did the best job that I could but when they came to install the granite countertops, I did not have them level enough and the wall behind the countertops was not very straight so they took the granite back off the counter and reworked the backside right there at the house, and they made it fit beautifully. They also only charged me $150 for the additional labor which was a great deal. They were also willing to work with customer supplied granite, which most companies would not. From the first phone call after my finding them on Angieâ s list to the Day of the installation theyâ re a completely professional company, and I would certainly use them again. I would highly recommend this company, and I am not in They are a completely professional company they left zero mess at the house and I would certainly use them again. I would highly recommend this company, and I am not an easy guy to please"

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

You can put hot pans on porcelain countertops. Porcelain is highly resistant to heat—it’s manufactured at around 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit, so it can withstand a ton of heat without cracking or damaging. Even though the high heat is a plus, you should still be cautious when putting hot surfaces on porcelain countertops.

Porcelain is a relatively affordable, mid-range countertop material. It typically costs between $50 to $70 per square foot.

Compared to quartz, porcelain is slightly more affordable, as quartz generally ranges from $50 to $200 per square foot. However, lower-quality, builder's grade quartz can be similar in price to porcelain.

Compared to granite, the price can be similar, depending on the quality of the stone. While granite slabs can range from $50 to $200 per square foot, you can find lower-end granite in the same price range as porcelain. High-end granites will cost significantly more.

Porcelain is generally more expensive than laminate, acrylic, and ceramic, but less expensive than high-end slate, concrete, and marble. A key benefit is that porcelain does not require sealing, which reduces long-term maintenance costs.

If you want your butcher countertops to last the typical 20 years, you should seal them monthly. Most homeowners use either oil or polyurethane, which helps repel water from the porous material. Keep in mind that if your countertops are in a kitchen, you’ll want to use a food-grade sealant. Tung oil, mineral oil, and beeswax are all popular options.

Yes, it is often possible to replace an undermount sink without removing the countertop, but success can depend on the countertop material. For materials like granite, the process is relatively straightforward. However, laminate or uniquely shaped countertops might need to be removed or modified.

The process typically involves shutting off the water supply, disconnecting the drain and plumbing pipes, cutting through the old silicone seal, and carefully lowering the sink from below. This requires a good understanding of plumbing and the right tools. If you are not confident in performing the replacement yourself, it is recommended to hire a countertop specialist or a plumber to handle the task.

Yes, onyx is more expensive than granite. Its higher cost is due to its rarity, delicate nature, and the specialized care it requires. While granite countertops typically cost between $2,000 and $4,000, onyx is considered a premium material. Its luxurious, translucent appearance and unique ability to be backlit also contribute to the higher price. In terms of durability, granite is a hard, durable surface, whereas onyx is more delicate and can be damaged if not handled carefully.
