In short, GFK is the way to go! We had significant damage to our home from a storm in June of 2023. State Farm recommended GFK as their “preferred” contractor. We contacted Kirk K. with GFK. He promptly came out and assessed the damage. Kirk was pleasant, professional, and extremely knowledgable about what it would take to get our home fixed. He was able to answer any questions or concerns and submit the repair estimate to insurance. State Farm gave tons of push back regarding the repairs especially replacing the entire roof. State Farm just wanted it to be patched. This delay and fight lasted 6 months. Kirk stuck with us advocating what it would take to get the house fixed going so far as to spend half of his day waiting on the adjustor. Kirk’s meeting with the adjustor on our behalf definitely helped convince State Farm to fix the entire roof. Once we were finally able to get State Farm to approve all repairs, Peter C. with GFK was our project manager. Peter handled all of the scheduling for his crews and any subcontractors. Peter was hands on stopping by daily to see the progress. He routinely told us “we will make it right” when any issues came up. The GFK work crews were always on time and ready to work. Hector, Jason, and Jose were great to have in our home. The subcontractors that GFK uses are dependable. Several managers/owners of the crews were hands on with the repairs as well. In the end, we decided to hire GFK out of our own pocket to do additional remodeling in our home. The work included demolition, door install, flooring install, and wall removal. The work was done to our satisfaction, and again if any issues came up, Peter promptly addressed them. GFK is an honest and dependable contractor that we would highly recommend for your construction needs.

This is the 2nd job GFK completed for us and we couldn’t be happier. Professional, courteous, and always on time. No more waiting around to see if the contractor will actually show up. Or wondering if they’ll do it right. The entire team is awesome!

I hired GFK in early 2023 when my pipes froze in the attic of my rental house. The pipe burst and soaked the insulation in the attic and caused the ceiling drywall to collapse in the kitchen and living room. I called the insurance company and they sent a random contractor from out of town to “mitigate” the damages… they stripped 75%of the house down to thestuds! When I called the insurance company they tried to give me a hard time about covering the cost to replace everything from flooring, drywall, trim ,cabinets and countertops & insulation. At this time I contacted GFK because I knew I was not equipped to get thin my own. Kirk came out and did an initial inspection of the house and was very thorough and confident in his ability to handle the job and the insurance company’s quoting procedures. I knew I made the right decision after seeing all that went into the quote and each individual line item separated by room with material and labor costs. GFK and the insurance company went back and forth over different details and costs within the quote, but in the end it was all covered! Kirk and Peter were in contact with me through the whole process and kept me updated when different contractors needed my input on materials and if we wanted to make any changes. The work was done in a timely manner and the house was rebuilt to better than original quality. He was able to save me enough money from the rebuild to update the bathroom and replace the water heater. This was a big job and I was relieved to have hired GFK from beginning to end, they were professional, timely and communicated well with the insurance company adjusters and myself. They are a well oiled machine and set a high bar in a field where expectations are low, thank you to Kirk and Peter at GFK who handled the job so well! What a relief!

GFK Construction completed my kitchen repair after the sink leaked and caused major damage to the walls and cabinets. GFK came in and worked with my insurance to get everything covered and restored back to its original state. They worked quickly and were a pleasure to work with. We were very pleased and would highly recommend them to friends.

Mr. Brian Batey of GFK handled our case and arranged for all the repairs, carpeting and repainting.  Once our insurance claim was completed, Brian arranged for all the work to be to done expeditiously. He arranged for Jose Garcia to repair the drywall and he started on 20 April and finished the next day. The baseboard was replaced on 21 April and Elly Hall of AAA Service Company arranged to have our furniture moved into our garage that day. On the 23rd, Tisha Tillman of TNT Painting and her crew started painting the walls and finished the next day. Following the weekend, Tom Benke of All Flooring & Beyond arranged to have our carpet replaced. Danny and his team showed up on time on Tuesday 28 April and removed and replaced our carpet and pad. Finally, on the next day, AAA Service returned to replace our furniture in the house.

We were extremely satisfied with all aspects of the work provided. All work was done professionally, on time and within budget!

It didn't help and I lost use and had to replace the baseboards but not from the water damage, from their ripping them out.
They left a giant pile of debris strewn over my front yard with nails sticking up and out. I reported them to my insurance company and they came and picked up the mess after a week.

I would not call GFK again for water mitigation if my home was floating down the street.  It took one week short of a FULL YEAR to have everything taken care of in one and a half rooms, plus two days of painting.  I could never get anyone to return my calls in less than 3 messages.  When I was unhappy with the color of the walls, I called the manager to let him know.  The next day my living room, dining room and kitchen were painted the color i said I didn't like.  No apologies were offered on the numerous concerns I had about the way the situation was handled.  I had a lock box on my front door for 7 months so that anyone associated with the company or their subcontractors could come and go without notice.  It only came off when I insisted.  I am not at all convinced that the one pipe that broke in seven places is insulated in a way that will hinder it from breaking again.  Never again!

I guess it was okay. We don't have a leak no more and the inside is good.

Overall the flooring contractor was spot on and would hire again. The painters on the other hand were slow and very messing. Stopped mid job and said I would finish due to work.

A big tree had fallen on our house a couple of years ago and this company was out here like the next morning 8 O’clock and they did a fantastic job.  They were very professional; there was somebody here every day.  I would call them back again to do some remodeling.  The insurance took care of the price.  They were here every day till the work was completed.  They worked on Saturdays and Sundays.  The overall project was $38000 and our deductible was $1800.  Our dog was so old and we were gone and when we came home we saw the tree on the house and my wife and I both looked at each other, screamed the dog’s name, came in, she was sound asleep on her bed.  So being old and being hard of hearing has its own advantages.
