"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"recently moved from Fort Lauderdale to Dallas, TX, and I had a great experience from start to finish. The team was professional, reliable, and made the entire moving process feel smooth and stress-free. They handled everything with care, communicated well, and made sure my belongings arrived safely. Moving out of state can be overwhelming, but they made it so much easier. I truly appreciate their hard work and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy moving company."

"The move was professionally done. Members of the moving team were pleasant and informative. They carefully assessed the best way to get the piano in my house. Unfortunately, an accident occurred when moving the piano out of the seller's house, leaving some gashes in the wood along the front of the piano. I was not there and the seller did not see what happened, so have no idea why the damage occurred. The company was most gracious in giving me a reduced moving fee for the damage. This should help in covering costs to try to hide the wood damage."

"The initial call with Big League Movers to set up the appt was fine. Gentleman I spoke with was courteous. He commented that I provided a pretty thorough list of what we needed moved and he advised  a crew of three men would be enough. He called the week of to confirm. The three guys showed up b/t the window that was provided. Things started off smoothly, but the move out of the rental took quite a while--5 hrs total just to move out! This was strictly just moving items--no add'l packing was needed--and majority was boxes, only appliances were w/d.  They did not bring tools to breakdown the beds so we had to wait on a manager to bring them. Towards the end of the move out it seemed only the head mover guy was able to do the things that needed to be done like break down the bed frames, unhook the washer/dryer so the other two were basically standing around. This was a bit frustrating. They dropped a piece of furniture on the stairs which caused some damage and that damaged piece was again dropped on the move into the new house (b/c it was damaged earlier). They only wrapped one of our pieces of furniture that had drawers, eventhough at the beginning they said they would wrap everything. I did a walkt hrough of the upstairs when the head guy said everything was clear up there, and I found that not to be the case. There was a picture, and some stuff on the floor in a closet (which the door had been closed indicating to me that had been cleared). I asked the head guy about it and he said "I didnt know if those things needed to be moved", and did he ask or acknowledge he left those things up there? No. Finally they get to the new house at 3. Unloading goes a little faster, but I'm watching one of the guys run down the ramp from the truck w/ a dolley full of boxes some are fragile and dropping them a bit too h****** the floor. Overall, I was not impressed with the day of moving service. Sure they got our stuff from point A to point B, but it took 8 hrs (for 2000sq ft) but service was not up to par. No attention to detail, minimal care regarding our personal belongings, and professionalism needs some improvement.

Moving questions, answered by experts

Although purchasing moving insurance will add to the total cost of your move, it might take a weight off your shoulders. Moving insurance covers roughly 60 cents per pound. If you’re moving several antique or fragile items, you may want to invest in moving insurance covering damage or item losses.

Apartments come with strict regulations about what pets are allowed, so check before you sign a lease. If you have a fish or reptile, wait to move them until everything is set up and you’re ready to do a special move just for them and their aquarium/terrarium.

For a dog or cat, be sure you have a carrier before the move. On moving day, it’s best to designate a “safe room” or even a crate for your pet to help them get used to the new space. Keep everything they need in the safe room, and let them explore the rest of the apartment in their own time.

Your furnace rests at the center of one of the most complicated infrastructures in your home. Air intakes, ducts, water, electricity, and sometimes gas connect up to the system. Most of these lines were run to this point specifically to service the furnace, so they’ll need to be closed up and new ones established.  A furnace is almost always connected to the air conditioner, so you’ll probably be moving those components as well.

Moving a furnace a few feet is probably no big deal. Moving it into a different part of the house is a different story.

It is generally worth moving a shed if the structure is in good condition, you have space for it at the new location, and the cost to move it is less than the cost of buying or building a new one. You should weigh the pros and cons, particularly for long-distance moves where transportation can be expensive. If your shed is in disrepair or the relocation cost is too high, it likely isn't worth moving, and installing a new shed at your new property may be a better choice.

The cost of a long-distance move depends on several factors, including whether you hire movers, use a moving truck, and the size of your move. For a 1,000-mile move, you’ll need to hire interstate movers and ask them for an estimate based on the details of your move. Keep in mind that a 1,000-mile move will likely cost $10,000 or more.
