"I had several plugs at my home that needed to be changed out, multiple new light fixtures that needed to be installed, and I wanted to add a light + fan combo outside to my patio. Josh came out and gave me a great quote, did exactly what he said he would do, and had it done right the first time. I have never had a problem with any of the work he has done for me, and will use William Electric again! Would highly recommend! Any electrical work you need done, call William Electric firstâ ¦. Or youâ  re just making a mistake."

"John Corrigan and his sons are outstanding! They did outstanding work installing our lighting rods at a reasonable price. They were prompt, very professional and honest. I would call them again and recommend them to anyone."

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Depending on complexity and materials, costs range from $150 to $500 per fixture.

It is safe to run a generator continuously, but you must follow safety protocols to ensure personal and home safety. Read the manufacturer’s instructions for specific recommendations, but the general recommendation is to turn generators off overnight or when you’re away from the house. Overworked generators can pose a fire hazard and if your generator is not in a well-ventilated area, running it continuously could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Yes, many professionals offer surge protection to safeguard equipment from power fluctuations.

Often, you can add extra breakers to an electrical panel. A new breaker can help with new appliance needs, and it’s a common solution when finishing an attic or basement. However, adding extra breakers can’t bring in more amps to your house, so you still need enough amp service to power everything in total.

Yes, you can connect two extra outlets (or more) to one outlet if the total load on the circuit allows for it. If you have a 15-amp circuit, electrical code allows up to eight outlets or light switches. But if you’re dealing with outlets in the kitchen and bathroom, you may not be able to have as many. Kitchen and bathroom appliances often need higher amperage. You can also change a single outlet to a double outlet by cutting a larger hole in the drywall and replacing the outlet with a quad receptacle.
