"In the 8 months we've lived in our house, we've had 4 plumbers over the course of 10 visits or so and had spent over $1,200 in plumbing fees for people to give us a temporary fix and move on their way. No one could diagnose the source of all the issues we were having. And the issue kept coming back. Home Advisor put us in touch with Chris Roeder and on their FIRST visit, they were able to diagnose the problem and immediately put us on their schedule to get it fixed. We are now up and running with no plumbing issues. Chris and his crew were very courteous, always showed up on time, and explained to us all of the issues they were finding and what needed to be done to fix it. They did an excellent job and we will definitely be using them in the future."

"Taylor was extremely professional and efficient! He fixed the leak in my pump house as well as a broken shower head in no time at all. It was the easiest and quickest plumbing experience I’ve ever had. He got in, did the work, got out, no fuss, no hassles. I will definitely be using them again!!!"

"Kelly was on time and did a fine job replacing a crappy toilet! He gave me a great price and finished in record time. He even helped me fix a problem over the phone once. I would like to have a gas fireplace installed and hopefully Kelly can come install it."

"Al though, good faith effort was made to resolve my problem, the toilet still does not flush properly. Quality assurance was not paramount with this plumbing technition: hold down screw left untightened; toilet not adequately secured to floor when reset, hold down screws too long for covering caps. Technition did return after being called a second time when toilet was found to be loose on setting but, still not secure."

"David came to the house at the time he indicated on our phone call. He surveyed the issues I reported and purchased the garbage disposal and equipment for the toilet. He also recommended that I replace the other toilet since they were of the same age and likely to need replacement and the near future. I had a subsequent issue with one of the pipes in the kitchen from the garbage disposal repair. He came immediately and fixed that as well. Importantly, this was over the Thanksgiving holidays and he was still very responsive and timely."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, many services include removing and disposing of old toilets. Confirm with your provider.

Some of the most common bathroom leaks include showers, sinks, and toilets. Most homeowners discover these leaks because of the chronic dripping sound faucets and showers make as water drips to the ground, but a leaky toilet will often appear as a puddle. Inspect your bathroom faucets, showers, and toilets every month to detect leaks quickly.

According to the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), the distance between your trap and the vent should be no more than 6 feet. For your vent to work properly, it needs to feed into the drain line within 6 feet of trapways that connect to it. Using this formula, you should be able to determine whether you will need multiple vent lines.

To keep your toilet in good working order, replace the toilet fill valve every five years. Toilets get quite a workout, so while toilet maintenance may not be on top of your to-do list, it’s essential to keep up with it to ensure your toilet is in good working order and ready when needed.

Yes, you’ll need to replace your toilet’s wax seal any time you move the toilet. This is because movement of the toilet will break the seal, rendering the remaining wax useless. Thankfully, replacing a wax seal is fairly easy, and the seal itself only costs $2 to $10 at most home improvement stores.

When replacing a wax seal you typically also have to replace the closet bolts that secure the toilet to the flange. These are usually about 2.5" - 3" long and have to be cut once the toilet is secure. Cutting them usually makes them too short to reuse.
